I also decorate my home in a mixture of homemade decorations and loved ones I have had through the years. I hope you enjoy this video! Below are the two recipes I mention
Winter Balm
One cup of olive oil or coconut oil
One ounce of beeswax
15-20 drops of clary sage essential oil
Place the shaved beeswax in a heatproof bowl over a pan with water in, get the water to a gentle boil to allow the beeswax to melt. Then pour in the oil and mix together. Add your essential oil and pour the mixture while still hot into your upcycled jars. Let cool till they harden.
Hibiscus Tea
More of an ingredient parcel than a recipe. I include two handfuls of dried hibiscus flower, cinnamon stick and some allspice berries. All the person you're gifting it has to do is boil it up with water in a pot and add some sugar to taste. I wrapped my tea blend by making an upcycled paper envelope.

In Switzerland there is a company that delivers live Christmas trees in pot and you keep it throughout the holiday season and water it and take care of it. At the end of the holiday season they come and get it back and plant it again into the ground. Those tree just live from year to year and keep being used 🌲🎄

In my family we had a synthetic Christmas tree that was bought when my mum was 10 years old, it broke when I was 14, so it stayed in our house for about 40 years and we recycled it. three years ago we bought a new one that we'll also keep for as long as possible. I think that's better than cutting down a living tree every year and then throwing it away if yoy ask me

My family’s always had a fake tree and we’ve had ours for almost 10 years now because getting a live one harms their environment so much and it’s cruel chopping down premature trees that have the potential to grow and blossom much bigger in the wild

I love my Lomi composter! I use the express setting and put it in my outdoor compost pile. I live in a mild climate and have never had success with an outdoor composting pile actually breaking down food scraps. I will say though, that the smell and noise from the machine is not conducive to indoors, at least in my experience. I run my machine on my front porch and problem solved ❤

In years past we've purchased trees in a bucket with the root system still attached, and left it like that in the house for Christmas. Once the ground had thawed, we planted the trees in our yard. We have quite a few now throughout our property.

We didn't do a Christmas tree at my mom's house we found this giant tree decorative framed piece second hand in October and used that as our main piece over our mantle. It's got lights and fabric on it. It's a really funky piece. When we got Christmas cards we garland them underneath. I think we just decided to keep low key this past season.

In the past we have always had farm fresh cut trees. Then donated them to the local zoo. The animals get such an enrichment from them. This year, as our housing situation has changed. We are going to rent a live tree for the first time. It will only be about 3-4 feet tall. But will look great and smell just like it should.

I like thebwreath! If they are Riberry you can actually eat them. Best to make into a jam with sugar & you have to boil them for quite a while. Slightly tart, but you get that really native fruit taste. Just make sure they are Riberry (they look very similar to the ones we have here in Australia). Ok. Bye.

Nearing 20 years with our fake tree 🌲 at 38 looking forward to having it until the end! Back then the advice was fake trees were better for the environment 😅 but it’s changed now unless you keep it for the long term!!!

My parents had a beautiful straigth christmas tree last year. We cuted the branches off, kept the trunk and allow it to dry over summer. Then we drilled some holes into it to stick sustainable grown and cuted branches into the holes. So no whole tree must needed to be cut this year. Me personally, I really like it. :)

Defenitely recommend using a houseplant as tree. Started doing it a few years back with my parents. At first it was a little weird for them. Now we all look forward to the transformation. It’s quite a tall houseplant, though not as tall as the previous trees.

My family has always had a living Christmas tree. It stays in its pot and lives on the patio throughout the year, then comes in to hang out with us Christmas. I have also grown a Christmas tree from seed, I call her Christy the Christmas tree. She's too small to be the main tree at the moment but she has photo shoots, so I can show people how she's getting on. It snowed the other day, so I have a photo of her covered in snow.
