Fun fact - Home Free auditioned all 4 years of the Sing Off and finally got on the show in Season 4 after deciding to style themselves as a country act. That was just what they and the show needed. The rest is history.

Another thing they do brilliantly, is their placement. As a former bass man in a Barbershop Quartet, I know that many singers have to be in the right place in the group. Some tenors cna't sing if they are next to the bass, or the baritone can't sing if he is next to the tenor, etc. With Home Free, it doesn't matter. Whatever the placement, they are fantastic!

Good music is good music. Period. I still sing music from the 50's, 60's... and I wasn't even born then! Why do people have to compare and compete? When did that become a thing? Judge the music not the musicians!

Without a doubt, my favorite KZbin personality. Not only for your wit and wisdom, your facial expressions, your blatantly obvious passion for and knowledge of music, but your honesty and genuineness. Truly a breath of much needed fresh air in these troubling days. Thank you Sir for being you.

Adam Chance was not in this group w/ Home Free at the time, but the group he was in "Street Corner Symphony" they came in 2nd place in season 2 of The Sing-Off where he was the bass guy (with longer hair). They were very good and you should take a look at their performances also. The lead singer's voice Jeremy was tremendous and Chance did a great job also, but I'm glad he is in Home Free now because he is a perfect fit.

Colder Weather came out in 2010. It was performed by the Zac Brown Band & written by their lead singer & keyboardist. It's a beautiful song & I personally prefer the Home Free version although the original was almost perfect!!! 😁 👏 🤩

They do have a proper music video of Colder Weather with Chance, but there is also a live version from The Sing Off Tour with Chris that is also on their channel, so in total there's 3 versions including this one. They also have two other 'live' videos. One is a version of Cruise from The Sing Off Tour and one is God Bless America from when they sang at a Minnesota Twins game. All 3 live videos were from 2014 with Chris.

One thing I really love about the Sing Off performances (and I have no idea if they do it during regular live performances) is how they all turn and look at the person who is about to be awesome. They do it with Tim at the end of Ring of Fire with Rob in Colder Weather. At least once I saw them do it with Adam. Like they're visually trying to say "Ok, sure, thanks but check out THIS guy!"

Filharmonic wasn't my favorite group, but they mostly weren't bad. They could be quite good, and some of the covers they've done since the Sing Off have been rather good. Their "All of me" cover is fantastic. I wasn't a fan of the ending from Jewel either, but I WILL admit it at least took skill to do. Preferences are fun things, yeah? :P

another one of their covers that very rarely get reacted to is Hunter Hays Medley.. they did a brilliant job with it. Also if you watch the full version video of Colder weather.. watch the live video after where Austin forgets the words.. it is hilarious.. you have to keep your eye on Tim... his evil grin through it, you know he's gonna do something and poor Adam keeping the beat going while laughing.. Thanks!! As always your videos bring a huge smile 😁😘

"Ring of Fire" their version = country & reggae. Shawn Stockman did talk about how r&b is comparable to country music. Tim trains Avi amd Geoff on how to go lower. Even Geoff has written some arrangements for Home Free. Geoff teaches Tim sub-harmonics.

Drama, I no-homo love you, my brother. I've watched more than a few of your reaction videos and could not agree more when you said, "every single person that we listen to on this channel has their own lane and they do some things that can't be touched by the next". We, as a society, fail by trying to denigrate one because someone else did it this way. We have to learn to see the beauty in and celebrate each other's successes. Then, and only then, we can grow as a family. Please keep up the good work. I love the straight forward, no holds barred commentary.

I really liked what you said about the endless comparisons and "who is better" conversations. Especially since everyone is not hearing the exact same thing, and things that appeal to one do not necessarily appeal to another. I also found it interesting that you said that while watching these videos in particular. Reason being that on the episode HF did "Oh, Pretty Woman," Jewel had come to the groups to give them their 'assignment' for that weeks song, and while talking to them she said that while music *is* a competitive business, the competition is with oneself, not others. The goal should be to strive for greatness within oneself. Great reactions, as always. Love watching them. 🙂

I used to sing acapella and in trios with my sisters and I can really appreciate the work and talent that goes into this style of singing. I changed my major in college and went into a completely different direction other than music but I'm still addicted to good singing. I just bet that Adam Rupp has a good singing voice in addition to his beat boxing. It's amazing to me that Austin joined the group 4 months prior to the Sing Off. I guess it was meant to be. I love what you said. There is talent in all types of groups and we should enjoy them all. Thank you..thank you!!!!

Another fun fact that I had read, the show wanted either Austin or Tim to do the lead. They stood strong and together to have Rob sing lead. That is why the judges put in there that there a little “whoop” with Robs lead singing.

Hi. You're right, Tim Foust has a very low voice. And recently I researched low vocals and there is a singer named Tim Storms, he has the Guinness World Record for the lowest voice, but exaggeration is never cool. I prefer the voices of Avi Kaplan and Tim Foust they are incredible.

First, thank you for stringing all of these performances together without the commentary! I liked the commentary (of course, it was 99.9% great feedback for Home Free), but it’s nice to be able to just hear them sing. I agree with you on not comparing artists, especially when some do covers. Many people will say they like one better than the other. Many Home Fries say they prefer Home Free over the original. The covers where I am familiar with the originals, for the most part I like both with a couple of exceptions (I won’t name here). Other covers they’ve done where I’m not familiar with the original is most likely I probably didn’t care for the style of the artist/genre. I do know after hearing/reading quotes from the group that they would hope we don’t downplay the original artist because they would want said artist to be respected, but they do appreciate that we like their cover. Love your replays, um, I mean when you “accidentally” rewind the video for that super low bass! Then give us that big smile! 😂 I also agree that Adam won that beatboxing comp with Philharmonic’s beatboxer! Another great thing about Home Free is that they do make us like a song we may not have ever heard prior to their recording it! There are numerous recordings of their I never heard! Last, but not least, this is your channel so you say what you want to say! Anyone that doesn’t like it or agree can just move on! I know this country is in major turmoil right now! Something’s got to change and not just one thing! We all need to look in the mirror and be the best we can be! Love one another and just act like a human being and stop judging others. Everyone stay safe and healthy!

Amen, Amen, Amen ! There can be masters in their own lanes and it absolutely doesn't take away from anyone else. Heck, you can even have more than one master in the SAME lane and it still won't take anything away from anyone. Each show ended with a competition between the two lowest groups. What wasn't in the video set was the "battle" between Home Free and VoicePlay. I believe Home Free one that. For the final show of the season, all the season's contestants were brought back, and so was the winner of the previous season, Pentatonix. All three groups, Pentatonix, VoicePlay, and Home Free, were in the same building as the same time, and got to know each other.
