I never ever tire of hearing Austin sing! There are few singers who are as versatile with their types of singing as him. Classical here, honky-tonk style, country twang, yodeling, wailing high, pretty much can do it all. That's what makes him special and my favorite I guess. Rob has that voice that is so sweet and so pure (of course can whistle like no one else and "rap"!) and Tim, well, king of basses. Then Chance has that incredible sultry baritone that just cuts deep into my heart and touches me. Adam, world-class beat boxer extraordinaire. Put them all together, and we are super blessed!! Thanks for sharing your love of music with us and your fun and enthusiasm! Great reactions and happy we know you! Take care.

This comment is a year late. 😄 I read a comment somewhere else that Austin was sick when he did this “Bring Him Home” rendition. He performed like a pro and showed us his clear, powerful, & beautiful voice regardless. How magnificent would it be had he performed this with a full orchestra and a professionally produced video? I do appreciate the person who recorded this and posted it on KZbin. Thanks for the reaction! 😊

Austin definitely has some pipes! I was blown away the first time I saw the “Bring Him Home” live video. The guys are really good at picking appropriate sites in relevance to the song they sing, or maybe it’s someone else who picks that. Whoever it is, they do a great job. I know that Adam Rupp has a tenor voice, and whenever he harmonizes (sometimes) he will sing a couple of octaves above Tim, or Chance (whomever has the bass part). I love how you pick apart and dissect the song. I thoroughly enjoy your reactions, fellow Home Fry!

Every time I see the video with them singing Le Mis, I get the chills and tears come to my eyes. Home Free is quite simply amazing. There aren't a lot of groups that can cover the incredible range of genres and do it so well. They never sound out of their comfort zone, everything just sounds like they're meant to be singing it. Broadway, country, rock, gospel, rap, r&b, plus whatever other mixes you can throw at them. I know this is an older video, but thanks for all of your breakdowns and attention to detail. ❤

I've seen this umpteen times & every time I hold my breath thru the entire thing!! Austin has such a powerful voice. This is what he trained for. He worked hard at losing his southern drawl accent being a southern Georgia boy, & then had to bring it back for the group! When he joined HF, Tim said, "Um... can we have your southern accent back again, buddy?" LOL! They all have such diverse voices. Rob has a bit of a jazzy background, Tim has mostly country, Chris more pop, & Chance seems to bring a bluesy flavor into the mix. No wonder they're such a strong group. Don't know if you've heard Voctave, but it's another a capella group that's really good. They also sing at Disney World as The Voices Of Liberty in which Austin used to be part of before joining HF back in 2011. Pretty cool! Btw: check out "I Can't Outrun You". It'll blow you away!

I love these two songs together, such a contrast of styles and voices, great choice. It really does show the strength of this group, that Austin can go from singing a challenging musical theatre lead in the first one, to background harmonies only in the second, and both songs are excellent, because they are all about making wonderful music together, not about duelling egos. Chance said once in an interview, that when he agreed to join Home Free from Street Corner Symphony it was on the condition he got to sing bass some of the time, that he didn't want to give it up - and of course that meant Tim could cover a wider range as well, so he was a perfect fit. Maybe if you feel like a change from Home Free, you could react to something from Street Corner Symphony - Stay With Me is a lovely one, or Uptown Funk.

I enjoyed your comments about David Phelps and Austin's singing. David is my all time favorite singer with Austin at a very close second. I'm not sure what Austin's highest note is, but I've watched several reaction comments about David's high notes, and they listed an F5. My understanding is that's high for a male singer. He's now 50 and sadly the high notes are fewer. Austin is young, and I wish he'd do more lead singing. His voice is fantastic and I love hearing him sing. Thanks again for your comments!
@QofyReacts4 жыл бұрын
I suspect Austin can work his way up to an F5 note but not as strong and long as David did in his prime years

Sometimes I feel that his voice is not used to the fullest within the group. I realize it is a group effort and they all need their chance to shine. But when he is left out of a song to just do backgroun d, it is very obvious to me.

Re range of Austin ( and Tim) there a few videos showing their ranges .Austin can go higher ( i don’t know the terms) Austin has a degree in music ,as have Rob and Adam Austin spent a long term getting rid of his southern accent for his classical singing ,only to bring it out again when he started with Home free!

Oh wow that’s such a great background he has 😁

I would like to see you react to Home Free's "Home Away From Home Series". Episode 1 has a spot in the vid. @ 5.02 where they are setting around talking business and they start an impromptu singing of amazing grace and Austin hits a extreme high note(the sun part). It's high than I have heard in any of there songs. Plus you get a really good "behind-the-senes look" at Home Free and it lets you, really get to know them, outside of the music. You should check it out! kzbin.info/www/bejne/oJ3VdKhmhbemqq8

As usual, I love your reactions QoFy! I love your knowledge and how you break it down for us. I would love to see you react to some of their live skits. They have one called “Guilty Pleasures” here’s the link kzbin.info/www/bejne/j3TEeXStnrKdntk and another called “Songs that didn’t make the cut” here’s the link kzbin.info/www/bejne/mZ-zoYywoZh4eKs both of these are HILARIOUS!

Although this version kzbin.info/www/bejne/qoLPkJpnZamqY5o of Guilty Pleasures has A LOT more views: 40k ish vs over 1million. This version doesn’t go quite as planned coz they derail quite hilariously (hence the title “guilty pleasures hilariously derailed”!) and this one was also done in Austin’s home town of Tifton, Georgia
