Bangkok Voice Coach

Күн бұрын

'Crazy' is a true classic. Willie Nelson wrote it but it became a household song when Patsy Cline released her sublime recording in 1961. Austin Brown's incredible high tenor vocals and the boys in perfect harmony lead to a few surprise discoveries.
William, the Bangkok Voice Coach, is a Grammy-nominated classical singer and stage director. He lives in Bangkok where he gives masterclasses and private singing lessons at his house and online to students around the world.

This is such a simple, yet lovely song. The fellas perform it so well that once again, one loses the awareness that there are no instruments. Ok, William, time to take a closer look at more of what Rob can do. I recommend Country Roads, End of the Road and Bless the Broken Road. Road theme here?!? Have fun and enjoy! 😊

Rob...the Bearded Wonder is always my #1 Home Free member. His voice isn't what is constantly pushed as THE type of voice to swoon over like Austin or Tim.. but I've never heard a more balanced and beautiful bit of ear candy than I have from that man!

Thank you once again for a perceptive and knowledgeable reaction. What stands out to me is a common Austin approach, interspersing long held notes with the conversational tone you noted. Plus my eternal puzzlement as to where he keeps his lungs. Breath control is all very well, and Austin really shows it off here, but you've got to have somewhere to put the breath. Instead of building up the midriff muscles, he continues as skinny as a rake. The band does a lovely job here. This is about as much doo-wop as I can take, but there is enough beautifully harmonised movement (and tactful vocal percussion) to keep it interesting and to allow the emotion ro come through.
@BangkokVoiceCoach
@BangkokVoiceCoach Жыл бұрын
I think he uses very little air when he sings, either by design (his plan) or by nature (his anatomy). His vocal cords are slim and need very little to vibrate. I know he’s skinny but he’s athletic. ❤️

Home Free's arrangements always fit perfectly whatever song they are performing. Sometimes just one soloist is best, sometimes multiple textures in voices is better. They always seem to make the very best musical choices. That there are no egos in Home Free so they serve the music, rather than trying to make the music serve them is the main reason why they always put out the most wonderful music. They have knocked it out of the ball park yet again. This is gorgeous. Great reaction.

Hello there! I am new to your channel and I would like to suggest you an artist that you might haven't reacted yet. I found you from your Dimash reactions and by searching your channel, you have done reactions on Dimash, Angelina, Diana, and Marcelito Pomoy which all I loved and believe got alien talents. With those people, I recommend you to please react to an artist named Morissette Amon (Moh - ree - set Ah - mon). She is currently 26 years old and dubbed as Asia's Phoenix🔥🦅. She was named after the Canadian🇨🇦 musician Alanis Morissette. She has the same nationality as Marcelito Pomoy (Filipino🇵🇭) and they both are actually best friends in real life. As much as you expect so much to Dimash's talent, I believe you should expect the same to Morissette's cuz she is also an alien👽 If you wish to react to her then for starters, I always suggest her performances of her original Filipino song "Akin Ka Na Lang", her cover of "Rise Up", and her cover of "Never Enough", all LIVE at Wish 107.5. I also like how you analyze and react so it would be a pleasure if you react to Morissette too🥰 I want you to add her to your collection of alien newly generated artists👍❤️ Thanks!

Happy New Year! I agree that they made the right decision to have Austin sing the full lead for this, but with that said, I never feel that it takes away from the focus and intention of a song when they do share the lead between them. For me it usually creates more depth to the meaning of the songs when they do. This song, however, needed it till be just Austin. They are really good at remaining, and even enhancing, the meaning of the lyrics and music of any song.

I love your great insightful reactions so much! And of course I love that you love Home Free like we all do and especially my favorite, Austin! I wondered if you've heard him do Tears in Heaven (wow) and also singing At Last in the same key as Etta James. (incredible) They are all so talented and I love the group, have been to 7 live shows and cannot wait for the next one! But I can't ever get enough of Austin's solo music. I loved him singing Georgia on My Mind. As you said, he can bring all the emotion and the way he can hold out every word, every note, just makes it so special. Thanks again for all your great comments. Love seeing you there in Thailand! Take care.

I love this. The Patsy Cline version is one of the very few "traditional" country songs that I enjoy, so i was a little fearful when this showed up originally. What if they ruined it for me? Ha! As if. Such a wonderful job. Adam's laid back percussion is perfect. The backing harmonies are heavenly. And, of course, Austin kills it, yet again. To really see them "in jail", look at their Folsom Prison Blues. Happy New Year!

I adore Home Free. They are the only group that I listen to on a regular basis. However, that doesn't mean I stan for all of their versions of songs. This is one that is not on my playlist because it is missing an interior heart ache that the original has. It's good but not a patch upon the original. Austin has a wonderful voice. Even though, at times, I find him far too nasal. There are other times, like for When A Man Loves a Woman...where he doesn't do the overly nasal thing and just BELTS IT! He outshone the original for me on that one.

The original is impossible to surpass. Patsy C apparently did it in one take. The voice is so wonderful and, tragically, it became even more iconic because she died two years later.

You need to check out some of the others taking the lead (and their fun side). My suggestions: Rob "Bless the Broken Road", Chance "Sea Shanty Medley" or "Folsom Prison Blues", Tim "Champagne Taste (on a Beer Budget). Also "Man of Constant Sorrow" and "Butts Remix". Then once you are very familiar with all of them, you MUST watch "Mayday".
