Austin does a great job here and his musical theater training shows, but Rob is the one who just blows you away. Rob has trained in classic opera but had not done it for about 15 years, Austin had pushed him to do it for a long time and he said the only way he'd do it is if Austin did it with him, and this is the result. The power in Rob's voice is just astonishing.

I appreciate that from him; it struck me the same way. I've been following and enjoying Home Free since they were on "The Sing Off" and I had no idea of this hidden talent!!

Surprising, no? Rob has a degree in music, and has opera training. Austin has a degree in music theater, and convinced Rob (took a bit of time) to sing this.

Just so you know, Home Free has been independent for the past four years. So anything from their "Dive Bar Saints" album and after, you will not get a copyright strike for. Nor will you for anything on Austin's or Tim's YT channels. The main reason they went independent was so people could do reaction videos. They have been very supportive of the reaction community for a very long time. So glad you got to see this one. It's a masterpiece.

In an interview with Patrol Gaming, Austin said he'd really wanted to show off "opera' Rob - but Rob said he wouldn't unless Austin sang it with him. Austin went on to say that he thought he'd been okay but that Rob was just fabulous. I love the way they support each other as well as other singers (Texas Hill, Makena Hartlin, Straight No Chaser, the Bass Gang, etc.) Now you need to see Austin sing "Bring Him Home" (on his channel).

What these guys can do is mind blowing. Listening to this, you can identify Austin's voice--it's Austin doing an absolutely fantastic job of singing opera, but Rob doesn't even sound like himself. Rob sounds like an opera singer. 🤯 Loved your reaction and thanks to Jamie for the request. 💐

I hear over and over that Rob doesn’t look like that country tenor ought to be coming out of his mouth. He looks like THIS voice ought to be coming out of his mouth. He’s such an amazing dramatic tenor! Austin’s voice is still that light, lyrical tenor, but Rob’s voice was such a marvelous surprise!

Rob is a classically/operatically trained singer. Austin is a Theatrically trained singer. You never know who might be singing country these days. Avi Kaplan, former bass for Pentatonix is also a classically/operatically trained vocalist. In his solo career, both writing and singing, he lends his voice to folk, country and western along with some older songs.

I had literally gone to one of their concerts a few days before I found this video, and I remember hearing Robs voice at one point and I was like "I wonder if he can do opera" and suddenly heres a video... with Austin.. beautiful song.. This is on Austin's channel, so there are not likely to be any copyright issues. Rob and Austin have a special friendship dating back 10 years . When Austin first saw Home Free perform, he says it was Rob's voice struck him most. It was Rob who let Austin know that there might be a vacancy coming up and contacted him when there was. In live recordings you often see them sharing a joke in the background. And now this. Rob's voice gets most of the applause, but Austin's bright incisive tone on those top notes is real goosebump time. In fact Rob's "opera" voice, lovely though it is, is not as marketable in the modern musical market as Austin's. The old operatic workhorses of Italian opera have become rather unfashionable and modern opera prefers the agility and youthful tone of a lyric tenor. Shout out to Sebastien Douyon for the arrangement of a solo aria as a duet and for the production.

This is wow, wow and again wow. It is insane and extremely good. Fantastic. Both are doing great. But Rob, I'm perplexed. His voice is just magical and so rich Chills just ran through my body. It flows into my heart. He will be able to stand with the greatest of opera singers. It's not often that I listen to songs by opera singers 5 times and more in a row. But here it is. Of course I hope that both will always continue to do Home Free, but I wouldn't think it wrong that such "trips" are made more often. Opera, country, ballads, soul etc. I think anything is possible..

I have never been a big fan of opera except maybe some Andrea Bocelli & a few others. But I have always appreciated the talent it takes to sing opera. I was pretty impressed with Rob & Austin's version of Nessun Dorma. I have heard this famous song done by Pavarotti. I think I was more surprised by Rob's range & powerful delivery than even Austin's. Pretty good for a couple of country boys! Nice to see them dressed up in suits & looking classy.

I love watching your reactions to the guys from Home Free. Rob not only studied but was into Opera for a good 15 years. Austin;s background is quite different as Broadway Musical style. Rob actually made me cry as he is very similar to another favorite of mine...Luciano Pavarotti. So deeply beautiful and mesmerizing. These guys can sing anything. Rob was classically trained in Opera in college. Austin had a musical theater background, but was also trained classically. This was Austin's idea and he had to convince Rob to do it.
