I'm not a Christian, but I am familiar with this hymn. This still gave me chills and brought tears to my eyes. I will never mock or put down anyone for having beliefs or faiths different than mine. I don't think it would be possible to sing this like they did without some profound faith.

I've heard that Chris, the percussionist, has a 3+ octave range which is part of why he is capable of so many different vocal effects. In fact, did you hear the synthosized organ he was doing just before Austin took lead🔥. There were also bells, however that could have been Chance. Austin has a 2+ octave range himself. Rob has a 1.5 octave range. This is why they assign parts based on how they are choosing to arrange a song.

This song is their most successful one according to Tim. I'm sure you heard why. The guys were performing at an outdoor venue when a lightening storm blew through. The group was hustled off the stage after only three songs. Half of the audience left and the other half ran through the storm up a big hill to a pavilion hoping the storm would end and the concert would continue -- that never happened. About an hour and a half later, the fans saw five guys running up the hill through the thunder and jumped up on a picnic table and performed this song for them with the storm roaring behind them. I think it was God's way of showing his appreciation :*))

The first time I saw this, like you...I was speechless. It not only gave me chills, but it also took me, mentally, to a while other demention. This is a A Capella group. They refer to themselves as a Country A Capella Vocal Band. Just a bit of information on the guys. The guys as they were lined up in this video from left to right are: Adam Chance (aka Chance) since there are two Adam's. He has a 4 octave range, but mainly sings in the Baritone/ Bass range. Next is Austin Brown, High tenor. Then we haveTim Foust, who was the one that started this song off. He has a 5+ octave range, but mainly sang Bass until Chance came along to join the group in 2016, freeing him up to show off more of that amazing vocal range. Then there was Rob Lundquist their lead tenor. Next but not least was their beatboxer extrodinaire, and founder of the group, Adam Rupp who sang the lyric's All Is Well With My Soul on this song. He only sings when a song calls for a 5 part harmony, or it's a religious song. This video was shot by a drone in the Alps of Austria while on tour. Thank you, for another outstanding reaction!

Many people have suggested their upbeat/feel good songs, and that's what they like, but I prefer their songs that make you "feel" something. (like this one) Their versions of "In the Blood", "I can't outrun You", "What we ain't got" and "Heaven" are some of my faves! Surprisingly, some of their contemporary Pop songs I really like! "Wake Me Up", "Story of my Life", "Castle on the Hill" and "Woman Amen/Female" are too! I would have never heard of these songs if it wasn't for Home Free.

@@nateeller2748 Admittedly, it's not everyone's style. The good thing is that there are just so many HF covers that we probably like more of the same ones than not...if we don't...that's ok, too. We're HF fans. That's what matters. 😊 Sometimes, if I"m not in a great mood, I'll pick up my guitar and play a mournful piece of music...I Can't Outrun You fits right in that space...What We Ain't Got is just as good for that, too. Your reaction to this timeless hymn is genuine and real. Home Free is the conduit by which humility and gratefulness fill our collective souls. They have been bestowed with the gift of voice, which allows them to hold and turn our attention towards the creator. What greater mission is there? Having scripted this, it is still to be said that within us all, resides the timeless spirit of goodness, we all strive for. We cannot possibly understand, or, feel this goodness if it isn't a part of us already. We simply need to access its abundance through quiet reflection, meditation and appreciation for all that is good around us. Home Free, is just another way by which God reaches out to us all..... to say 'Hello.' It is solely up to us to recognize and respond, for He is always there...

Thought you were doing Ring of Fire next, lol. Tim Foust, the bass, has an amazing 5 octave range. He can reach high notes about as high as Austin and Rob (the tenors) and then a second later, blow the sub woofers with his low notes. To hear some of Tim's higher range, try "Mayday", or "Thinking out Loud/Lets get it on"... there is also some live concert footage of Tim singing "Your Man" where he shows a high note, then proceeds to blow the speakers with his low notes. Its hysterical.

Tim has 5 octaves (as mentioned already 😉), but the bass notes you were actually talking about were courtesy of Chance (4 octave range). Tim was singing the melody at that point, so the do do do notes under him were Chance. Having two guys able to sing bass in the group is just awesome. It made that last note at the end have that much more power. Gives me chills every time. Two other pure harmony power house songs are “Helplessly Hoping” and “Auld Lang Syne”.

Or I miss understood and you were thinking he was singing high? If so, you haven’t seen anything yet 😂. If that was what you were going for, please disregard first comment lol. Also, if that was what you were going for, check out “Mayday”.

Great reaction, mate. Two others that show off their nearly perfect harmonies are Helplessly Hoping (Crosby, Stills and Nash) and Auld Lang Syne. Looking forward to more Home Free reactions. I completely understand your reaction about this song. I listen to it at least 4-5 times every week. It’s a great song to listen to right before bed.

Helplessly Hoping is one of my favorites that HF covers (along with all their other songs!). That is an example....as MAP Poduction reactors said (something along the lines of)... it's amazing what five beautiful voices can achieve.

Awesome reaction...your facial expressions said it all! I've heard this live and its even more amazing! They could be called a band...because when you're listening to them you hear instruments that aren't there! Now you should react to Amazing Grace that they did with Peter Hollens...or their cover of My Church by Marin Morris! I just hit the sub button....just keep HF coming...you haven't heard anything yet!

I love your reactions and i'm enjoying your journey with them. Rabbit hole: Peter Hollens Misty Mountains featuring Tim Foust (the bass.) (Then Greensleeves, Sound of Silence, and Beidge Over Troubled Water.) They all have amazing ranges 3+ to 5 octaves. To hear Tim in his top range, listen to Mayday. I can't wait to see you react to Blue Ain't Your Color and In The Blood.

When you do “Ring of Fire”, watch a live version or the performance from the Sing-off show and include the judges comments. It is Home Free All Vocal Country Band. Check out “Blue Ain’t Your Color”, it’s done Motown style, the harmonies will bow you away!
