At a show I was at they closed their show with this song and everyone got up and clapped and danced. Chance reached down and took my phone up on the stage. I don't post much on YT, but I did that because it was an awesome experience!

Big shoutout to Kristin Denehy, for her endlessy patience, to learn HF to dance. Love this cover, it always make me feel good. And yes, it's Patreons, who donated their dance videos, after HF asked for them.

The videos with fans are through their Patreon. They recently released a collab with Peter Hollens for U2s “Still Havent Found What I’m Looking For” which uses both artists Patrons. It was really well done. Also their new Christmas Album just released, and a live-streamed Christmas special in early December.

I feel your pain! I had tickets for Pentatonix who were coming to the Paso Robles fair here in California in July of 2020. It's July 2021 as I speak, and it looks like we're going back into another lock down, because not enough people were willing to get their vaccinations when the getting was good. Makes me wanna scream and shout out, and it's totally unfair to musicians who are less well known than PTX and HF, with their enormous fan base.

I was hoping you would eventually get to this song!! I LOVE their take on it. The "Soul Train"esque look of the video along with the videos from the Home Fries. And MAJOR props to the editing team for making it look like the Home Fries are dancing on beat to the song! It is IMPOSSIBLE to watch this video without smiling. You cannot be in a bad mood after this. Adam kills on the beatbox! Austin's swagger after Tim's solo is priceless. The dance moves speak for themselves. And I guess that the piano at the intro is about the only time you ever hear an instrument in a Home Free song (other than their cover of "Devil Went Down To Georgia" w/Charlie Daniels). Or at least those are the only ones that come to mind right now. Can't wait to see what you come up with for next week. :)

I loved this song back when it was released (1972). The O’Jays were a great group! I had seen talk among Home Fries on Facebook that the guys had performed this live. We saw them in Baton Rouge in 2018 (my hometown) and they finished the show with that one (not including their encore). I was over the moon and enjoyed their performance immensely. I was dancing and smiling (sitting front row is awesome)! They really know how to entertain!! I enjoyed your reaction, but I have to disagree about your opinion that they can’t dance. Actually, Tim, Adam, and Austin are pretty good dancers. Rob has rhythm and can move pretty well, too. Chance has rhythm, but isn’t as lively as the others, but he does dance. They do a good bit of choreo in their live shows. You should go back and re-watch, specifically Adam! He does some pretty fancy footwork a couple of times. Some of their “moves” in the video were for fun and not meant to be taken seriously. 😂 I still enjoyed your reaction, though! 😉

Great reaction thank fun song enjoyed it i think the people are the patrons i did see a video with peter hollens and they all used there patrons 😊
@susansisson3663 жыл бұрын
Of course, they made the song light and fun, and I completely get it. But the song repeats the line, "People all over the World..." but the people in the video were all white midwestern and southeastern folks enjoying a summer hoedown, rather than even the slightest effort to portray other shades of folk. Learning that their patrons were the participants, who were asked to send in videos is certainly a fun fact, but I still think they could have shown some love to the "brothers in Africa" like the song said. I don't usually complain about this kind of thing, but this was almost a prima facia example of "cultural appropriation," a term I've never fully understood until seeing this video. I love the group, but they need to get out more!

Wasn't this fun. Yes the fans were their patrons.i made a video but I didn't make the cut 😁. This is a staple of my playlist that I listen to each morning. I'm gonna disagree with you on the disco bit. This song came out in 1972, predating disco by about 5 years 😁
