When Tim sings lead, Chance is singing the bassline and so many people forget that. I love it also when Chance gets to sing lead too. As good as Chris Rupp was, once Adam joined, he brought the secret sauce because they went from one bass to two, and he can also sing tenor, so when Adam doesn't do the vocal percussion, you can really have a five tenor group.

They chose to sing this in its original key as sung by Cam, a female country singer. Just proves their lack of having a female in the group is no detriment--they just let their BASS handle it! 🤣 LOVE the versatility of our amazingly talented fellas!! 🥰. Every member of Home Free could absolutely be a solo ⭐ star ⭐ but their harmonies together are MAGIC!! ❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️

Chance seems to get the least attention of anyone in this group but he's probably the most versatile member. He can take the bass when Tim goes high, add additional beatbox, sing up into the tenor ranges and takes lead in some songs.
@martinhafner2201 Жыл бұрын
Chance does a great reasonably high bari-tenor first verse in the 2022 remake of American Pie. He does a smooth 2nd verse baritone lead in Brothers In Arms and the initial baritone lead in Sea Shanty Medley. He also starts solo in Helplessly Hoping. Home Free got lucky when they found Chance while looking for a replacement for Chris Rupp back in 2016.

Now I must haunt you to do some Chance leads. He just doesn’t get the attention that Tim and Austin do(the 2 extremes in the group). And Chance and Rob are my favorite HF leads. “I Can’t Outrun You”- pure 5 part harmony, hauntingly beautiful, and Chance directed the video. “Cover Me Up”, with lovely subtle percussion by Adam. Let the video play out as there is a surprise. “Blue Ain’t Your Color”, Rob and Chance leads, very Temptations-esque. “Some Girls Do”, “Yours”, “Finally Free”. One of Chance’s projects is “Helplessly Hoping”- cover of CSN, and more 5 part harmony. “Winter Song”, from their last Christmas album. Chance’s voice is like sipping scotch while wrapped in velvet. He is a storyteller similar to Gordon Lightfoot.

@@patriciamcl54 go listen to when chance covers tims bass parts live when he was out with covid. I love chance, but there was a drastic difference in quality down there in Many of the bass vocals. Just like tim covered many of Austin's leads when he was out sick and he could hit the notes but not in the same quality and power.

This song is one of my favorites. So glad you waited to react to it. Your surprise at hearing the switch ups in the voices was great. Tim can sing in a beautiful higher tenor voice along with Austin & Rob. And Chance can hit the lower bass notes when needed. And Adam did a fabulous job as always with his vocal percussion. There is one part that many people miss. When Home Free does claps in their songs, they show them clapping in the video. In this, there is something sounding like claps but the guys are not clapping. If you watch Adam closely, he is doing something at those moments. Watch his hands during any performance, he moves them like when he does his drum solo. So if you watch, you can see him snap his hand at the moments of the clapping like sound...so he is replicating claps?!? Also, if you watch the behind the scenes for this song (in their from the vault videos) you can watch Tim do the video shots of him singing the first part. The guys tend to actually sing (not full on but not just mouthing) while recording video. So you can hear the recorded track that he is singing with as well as his live voice while shooting...stereo Tim! Which is awesome to see and hear.
