As usual, they did a fantastic job making this sound like their own. They always respect the original, which is a forever classic, but they kicked in a lot of soul and the harmonies. Adam is a master drummer/beat boxer. The home fries have requested this one for years, but it is very iconic and tough to alter without leaving John Denver fans dissatisfied. They hit it just right.

I wore this album out by 1972! Lol Poems, Prayers & Promises! So, so good. John is one of my favorite singers. Home Free is my all time favorite and I will wear out Dive Bar Saints! I love that they've done 2 of John's biggest songs already and what I love about the Home Free version is, they have brought a timeless classic up to date for today's younger generation in Home Free fashion. A whole new generation is still hearing John Denver's music when they probably would've never heard it! Yes, John Denver did it best, for 1971. Home Free is paying homage to John without copying his original version and keeping his music alive! Way to go Home Free! ❤❤ Billy, you so CRAZY! 🤣🤣

The Wikipedia has a pretty succinct and accurate presentation for this song (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Take_Me_Home,_Country_Roads). I know others have already mentioned that Home Free did NOT write this song, in any way, shape, or form. They do, however, make it their own by this arrangement and their own inimitable way of presenting music in general. Glad you loved it. It is, by the way, one of the ONLY two covers on the album. :-)

I’m from and currently live in WV. John Denver song and the official state song. Home Free does a great job. Nature in WV is beautiful! Imo Home Free covers are often better than many originals on the first few listens. But to me, this style while sounding beautiful is to, I guess the word I’m looking for, emotional. It’s like Opera. Sound amazing but there is to much feeling and a slower pace to be something you would listen to regularly. So at first I think this sounds better than the original but the original is a song you can listen to everyday and stands the test of time and fits most moods. This version you have to be mellowed out and relaxed to appreciate it. The notes are drawn out which slows the pace of the song. So it’s not something you would typically listen to driving home. So it’s hard to compare them but Home Free is a special event type performance. When you are in the right frame of mind there is nothing more appropriate and powerful.

Trust me, you're not missing anything by not having tried moonshine. I'm from West Virginia, I've had both homemade moonshine and mass produced. Basically, it's whiskey that hasn't been aged in oak barrels. Pretty much all you can taste is the alcohol, it's really a bit bland and overpowering at the time (if that makes sense). The only reason it was ever really consumed is because it was dirt cheap and easy to produce at home by poor country folk.
