Yesssss, Nick is back with Home Free !!! This is an original & is just a song that should be on the radio !!!

I reckon you'd appreciate Austin's performance in "Save the World" - it's also from this new album & was released a couple of weeks before this one. Please don't freak out that their manager plays a couple of chords on the piano & Adam uses a bit of synth thru it (the a capella purists are going off on them not being true a capella anymore)- it's a great song, just let it wash over you & enjoy it. ;)

Another great original song. Love when they all take turns in singing a verse. Adam once again blows me away with his fabulous vocal percussion. And how cool do the guys look in their uniforms & shades walking out of the airplane hanger. Reminds me of a mixture of "Top Gun" & "The Right Stuff".

Their last few releases whether covers or originals could all be on regular rotation on radio these guys are just that good.

Either Tim or Austin wrote or co-wrote the 12 original songs on this album. Tim and Jeffrey East wrote this one and as always made sure each of the guys had a part to showcase their individual talents.
@patriciamcl542 жыл бұрын
There are two covers, Folsom Prison Blues and Everybody Walking This Land. But yes, it's great to see that the guys and their management have been thinking about what mght put them into an even better position in the market. I mean, have you heard some of the turgid slush nominated for the CMAs? Moving away from the strict no instruments cover band stuff has worked for a decade but these guys need to move ahead as artists and show what they can do.

Tim co-wrote this.

Nick, PLEASE do a full review of So Long Dixie, it's their best album yet...12 tracks and I believe 10 of them are originals....Yes please review Austin's amazing song he wrote, Save the World that you heard a snippet of...the song & video are off the charts. Good to see ya back with the fellas.

I think it's the warmth in their voices and the way they can vocally convey the emotional context of a song that puts them on the next level. Their harmonies are gorgeous, individually they are all great singers. But along with that the genuine friendship and world view they share makes them extra-special. I didn't know about your dad's passing - please accept my sincere condolences for your loss.

I think all of the HF guys have distinctive signature voices--and they all sing so clearly--I love that I can understand every single word they sing 😍 This is my favorite song from their new album. I love that all of the guys get their own chance to shine--and look fabulous--in this cool video❣️🎼🥰🎶♥️

This is one of my favorite songs on this album. Well, the whole album is great. I enjoy hearing you reacting to the song and the guys. A lot of fun.

You will love the album! Talking about Austin going off with the runs and riffs you gotta listen to Playing with Fire! He also does some great lower register singing in it. The whole album is full of their originals only 2 covers. Really so worth your time! Thanks, Nick!

Yes Tim has a really good personality, a heart full of generosity and love. You also notice that in the lyrics in his songs. I think that is also what gives Home Free a double appeal for me. The appearance that all members of the group have and the way they sing. They translate their personalities into their music.. Home Free the number one for me As expected: Amazing!!!! What a beautiful original and awesome lyrics.❤️ Great that everyone has the lead in a part of the song. Here too you can hear so well how important the harmonies and backgrounds vocals/sound is in a song. And of course the deep bass and inhuman vocal percussion. Only there is one problem. It's too short!😊😉 Wearing so cool suits in a video simple, but so good! It's already in my favorite playlist among so many other songs from Home Free!!
@patriciamcl542 жыл бұрын
The problem for me is that i am not keen on country music (there are a lot of Fries who aren't), and Tim seems determined to make the band more country rather than less. Notice how Austin's originals are what you might call "adult contemporary" with no real country feel to them. Second heresy: when it comes to deep voices, all of them leave me cold except Avi, who manages to put so much sweetness and feeling into his bottom notes. Tim seems to think getting down low is an end in itself, when in fact it's his tenor range that is good. Unfortunately there seems to be a trend in the US to regard singing not as an art but as competitive sport, with videos comparing ranges like football stats. What matters in music is not where you can get to but what you do with it, and I hope Tim is wise enough to know that.
@JoanN632 жыл бұрын
@@patriciamcl54 Yes, I understand you. Also I'm not really a fan of country music but I like Home Free. But especially Rob's voice touches me because it's so soulful. And when it comes to deep voices, Avi Kaplan is also my favorite. He's my favorite solo singer anyway, and not just because of the bass. He is unique. But for me it's always about the music. Music should not only be heard, but also felt. And that's what matters to me. Whatever genre. But I understand that everyone has their own opinion and feeling about music. And what you say, it should not become a competitive sport

I would love to see your reaction to an off-mic performance of 'How Great Thou Art' they did in a thunderstorm for fans. There are several people in different areas who recorded it. You can really tell whose voice is the strongest. Just look up Kearney, mo 6/17/17 Home Free. When Rob and Austin did Nessun Dorma I knew if it was gonna be serious whose voice would stand out. It was Rob tone that freaked me out, not the power.

I have to ask this question though...It doesn't matter because he always looks good but is it just me or does it seem that every time they're wearing some kind of jumpsuit that Adam ends up with one that either looks to small or waaay to big? So Long Dixie has almost all original music. Tim wrote this one. It’s so good. They have 3 songs out now from the album I think. Love the lyrics, “when a prayer goes up and an answer comes down”. So good. Adam killed the beatboxing. I’m with you, not really a country fan but what these guys sing just makes me fall in love. Good reaction Nick!🥰

I think what you don't like is the OLD country music. When I was a kid I didn't like country music because 1. the nasal twang drove me nuts and 2 all the songs seemed so sad. You know the joke about the wife leaving and the dog dying and the pick up truck quit working...lol well that's what all the old music reminded me of but it all seemed to change in the 80s, I LOVE HF because they don't do JUST country but their country is happy, upbeat and uplifting.

Good reaction. The use of Autotune is remarkable, its use is very subtle but it is there. I'm not saying that these guys are out of tune, I'm saying that the producers incorporate it as a subtle effect, and for my taste it makes it a bit artificial and unnecessary.
