Chance's lead, Adam's "nomonica" and Austin's high soulful adlibs on their cover of Huey Lewis & The News - Workin' For A Livin' are spectacular and the video is hysterical.

All I can say is Austin is beautiful, in voice and, not bad in appearance either! Even though we know he is looking at his girl in the video, it still feels like he is looking like he is looking at me!😍🥰. I love this video, which was done during quarantine! All of the guys are great, they have such amazing harmonies, everything they do is awesome! Love your reactions, keep ‘em coming!👏👏👏

Austin Brown is also a song writer - some of his originals includes "Love Me Like That", "Save the World" and "California Country". On his channel, the originals include "Off the Grid", "Real Talk" and "If I Met You Now". Each of them is so talented. There are live videos of Adam Rupp doing "drum" solos in concerts that are breath-taking! Love from a new subscriber in Canada.

Austin did a fabulous job of this classic song. Loved Percy Sledge's version, but this was taken to another level. I think it is also better than Michael Bolton's version. And remember this was done during quarantine, so the guys weren't even together. The backing harmonies are great, along with Tim's bass. And Adam's vocal percussion is outstanding. Drummers have often commented on just how realistic his sound is. This is why these guys are my favorite a cappella group.
@justkaron Жыл бұрын
Austin Brown has a really powerful voice. Cuts through everybody else almost too much sometimes. He has be writing/co-writing lots of songs lately. Groups last album 'So Long Dixie' had 10 original and 2 covers on it. The guys were on TV screens because they produced this during pandemic lockdown and they couldn't be together. They produced more than 20 of the lock down songs and the best of them are on an album I think titled Quarantine. They had to make booths in their closets at home and get the right mics and cameras and have people record them at their homes and send everything digitally to their producer Darren Rust. They kept their Home Fries happy by dropping a quarantine video every other Friday. They are simply phenomonal. They are in Australia or just flying home right now. They tour extensively although I think they're gonna dial back the touring a bit since they've been touring so much for so long. Four of them are married and two of them have children. Austin the youngest is in committed relationship (3 years) and might as well be married. He keeps writing fantastic love songs to her. No kidding. When there are women in their videos usually at least 3 or 4 of them are their wives or Austin's woman Amberly Hall. They are very respectful to women. If you notice in The Butts Medley, no women's butts were featured. They keep it classy all the way.
@patriciamcl54 Жыл бұрын
Austin has been writing songs for the best part of 20 years, but a lot of his work was so personal that it wasn't really suitable for the band. Though they did record the charming California Country. Getting into the shared songwriting vibe in Nashville has given him more confidence and writing and musical partners he can trust. He has a house full of demos, some of which may be heard when he finds the time. He's also a talented arranger (Country Fried Pop Medley, Moonshine).

Austin's voice was made for this song and he absolutely crushed it. The harmonies were like a beautiful tapestry to overlay Austin's performance on and of course Tim's bass supporting it all so perfectly. Adam's beat boxing/vocal percussion was perfection. Always enough, never too much. I've never enjoyed music as much as I have since discovering these guys. And, they are also just awesome people as well. They respect and appreciate their fans and are just decent, nice guys. Win, win.. The variety of music they put out is mind blowing. From silly, light hearted, fun stuff to seriously artistic masterpieces and everything in between. The more Home Free music I hear, the more I want to hear. I never get tired of hearing them. Loved the reaction. Get familiar with the sixth member of Home Free, Darren Rust. If Adam Rupp is Home Free's secret weapon, Darren Rust is their Svengali. Cleanest recordings / mixes of anyone in the business, fabulous world-class arranger (e.g. "How Great Thou Art"), and comedic foil for the guys (e.g. the hapless homeowner in their "Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer" among other choice cameos). His own group, The Blenders, are a staple in the Twin Cities music scene. Check them out as well!

Yes, Austin nailed it. He gives himself completely here and also plays very well with the cameras. The great harmonies, deep bass and the unbelievably freaking good beatboxing/vocal percussion/vocal sounds finish it all off for me. I think it sounds perfect because of all the different beautiful voices. I grew up performing Percy Sledge which I already loved. Then came Michael Bolton's performance where I couldn't say it was better. But this one from Home Free certainly is.

Thanks for the reaction! It is very hard to pick just one song out of so many favorites. That being said, the first one that jumped to mind was their cover of John Denver's "Take Me Home Country Roads". Also, as suggested by a commenter, The Doobie Brothers, "Listen to the Music" or Garth Brooks', "Ain't Goin' Down Till the Sun Comes Up". Their discography has so many great songs to choose from picking just one is almost impossible! OH! I just thought of another song, Righteous Brothers, "Unchained Melody". One reactor said that Home Free just does not know how to disappoint. Enjoy the Home Free experience!

Austin's version left Bolton's insipid efforts in the dust, and gave Percy a run for his money. His ability to control that belt is amazing. Adam's percussion is spot on, as usual, and the background vocals just completed it. Bolton should be sorry that he told Austin to go ahead and remake it. The liner notes don't say who arranged it, but it was probably a coordination between Darren Rust and the group. Darren is a genius and knows them so well, that he can engineer a perfect piece. It also doesn't credit the engineer/producer, but it is likely that it was Darren, too.
@musikbyjh Жыл бұрын
I absolutely loved this version…but I definitely can’t agree that Bolton’s efforts were insipid. Bolton absolutely KILLED it. And I love these guys, but Bolton as an individual I think has (or at least in the 90’s, HAD) a much stronger voice. I don’t have one doubt about that at all. I’ve listened to a LOT of Bolton, and he’s absolutely one to be respected. (And it’s certainly not my style of music). Again, love this version, but to say one is better than the other isn’t something I can do. They’re all amazing in their own ways.
@nancyholter5646 Жыл бұрын
@@musikbyjh I agree that Bolton has had?) a voice to be respected, and I do enjoy much of his music, just not his When a Man. I have seen it described as sounding constipated, like he hates women, like he is in danger of doing harm to his vocal chords...., and perhaps insipid is not the right adjective. Strained might be better. It just doesn't resonate with me, it never has since the first time I heard it when it was all the rage. It was a pale imitation of Percy's. But, as with the views on the various covers of Sound of Silence, that MIGHT be a factor of what you knew first/best. And we all know music appreciation is about as subjective as things can be.
@musikbyjh Жыл бұрын
@@nancyholter5646 ahhhh yeah, ok, I can understand that then. Keeping up with Percy, I’m sure it may have been a strain. That makes sense. And you’re totally right…it’s all subjective. We all have our favorites. I think I resonate with Bolton just because it was burned into my souls growing up. (My mom’s favorite singer). So I developed a love for him very early on. But anyways…talent is talent…and beauty is beauty. I’m just happy we can all come together and appreciate these things, regardless of if we have favorites.

If I counted correctly, this is your 4th HF reaction ... Welcome down the 'Rabbit Hole', Alice. Home Free 'became' a country acapella group at the behest of 'The Sing Off' producers; it was never their intent, but here they are. They cover a wide array of music, including their own. Death Metal is a far cry from country, but I recommend their cover of Johnny Cash's 'Ring of Fire' - featuring bassist Avi Kaplan of Pentatonix, and a Tim original - 'Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget'; he claims to have written it while intoxicated to meet a contract obligation, but it's funny as hell and better than most of us could write sober. 😂
