I think one of the reasons I have such a strong revulsion to modern country, is because I grew up with this...and the sound on the original is such that, if you didn't know it was country, you wouldn't guess.

Tim in an interview said that they had a good contract but realized that they mainly distributed their music for a huge cut. Home Free bought out their contract amicably. Now they self produce and contracted with a distributor. Obviously social media is a huge portion of their marketing plan.

I could listen to Tim all day long. I don't care whether he's singing or talking, there is just something about his voice that makes me relax. They had a record deal and they've got 4 cd's that hit the top ten on the billboard charts. Loved your reaction, keep them coming!

As a HUGE lover of music, spanning the 50s thru some current, your reaction is priceless in its sheer pleasure and admiration of the lyrics and melody. I smile watching your reaction and, yes, Home Free killed it on this song! They really made it their own! One of my personal favorite songs is by Scott Stapp. 'Dying to Live' embodies a great tune while delivering a tremendously heartfelt and relatable message. I know Tim's voice just kills me. Singing or just talking. They use to have a record deal which came with their win on The Sing-Off but the record company didn't know what to do with them and never promoted them so recently the guys bought out their contract. They are planning to self publish their next album which is coming out probably sometime in June.

Yeah that's kinda messed up because they knew they were getting an accapella group no matter who won the sing-off. Their albums are awesome at least the 3-4 post singoff. I hope the audio quality doesn't revert to the bands first couple of jukebox style albums with a different lead vocalist

The guys won The Sing-Off in 2013 and signed with Columbia Records. They will be releasing their 5th album in June of this year! There's a video of their journey on the Sing-Off here on youtube always fun to watch. It's a home recorded video so not the best quality but you can really see how far they have come in the last 6 years. I really enjoy your reactions! So glad you are becoming a Home Fry! Okay, watched. They are so talented. Here is where my mind-block is...using this song as an example, the original is so good and was so popular, much like the old school songs they do, that your ear is so trained to the original. Hearing Restless Hearts version to Beatbox (for lack of better term) just falls short for me. And, I think this is where I struggle with Home Free, yes, that’s it! I love cover bands, with Home Free its the whole lack of instruments, to hear your favorite guitar solos and so on....its the beatbox thing. Yep, finally put my finger on it. Thanks to y’all that’s been having convo with me on the Home Free topic. I love that we can talk about music likes or dislikes.

For me it's just the opposite. They take the songs and listening, I have to remind myself that there are no instruments. It amazes me that they cover these songs without instruments. I think Home Free is the best at doing this.

A few hours after it was uploaded, I gave it a chance (listened to it), and it's been stuck in my head ever since. Way too good. Harmonies are perfect and on point, beat is groovy!, Tim's bass line is awesome, just a fun song to listen to in general.

The original of this song is old school country... from either the 1980s or 1990s. These guys are turning a lot of people into Country fans.

This song was controversial when it was released for promoting diversity. It seems kind by today's standards Yes, they have several albums. They have done fairly well on the country charts. I own every album. They tour. Check out some of their concert videos. They're always at small venues, so it feels very personable. If you have a chance, go to one of their shows. It is a great time.
