Reminds me: the producers wanted HF to all grow beards because **country stereotypes**. Everyone was like, "Uh, this (peach fuzz) is as much as we can do". Which is basically true. Except for Robb. He grew more facial hair than the other 4 guys combined.

I went to Home Free's Christmas show on December 2nd. Someone asked where the trophy was, and Adam said that Chris has it. He keeps it with him. I'm guessing that since Chris, the one that started the group, and as Tim has said, brought his brother Adam along kicking and screaming, one of the Rupps should hang on to it. 😊

I don't know if you heard but Ten had never done Acappela before. The crazy haired blonde is Emoni Wilkins that sung with Home Free and Voiceplay. Also the group Vocal Rush were only High School student. Chris and Adam are the only original members at this point. Rob joined in 2008, Tim in 2012 and then in October of that year Austin joined. Thank you so much for doing this I really enjoyed it. You two are the best. Check out Whip/nae nae from Tim's storytime.

The Sing-Off Tour that followed a couple of months later was supposed to be the top winners, but Ten, who were gospel backing singers who'd formed for The Sing-Off, broke up, and Vocal Rush were high school students, so Home Free ended up touring with VoicePlay and The Filharmonic. VoicePlay had competed with a female friend of theirs, Honey LaRochelle, who couldn't make the tour, so Emoni Wilkins, the woman in the front row in Ten with the really big hair, joined them -- one woman and 16 guys on tour! They all got pretty close and remain friends. Additionally, Adam and his wife Ericha had a baby (Cerise) just before the tour was starting, so a beatboxer named Heatbox took his place the first couple weeks. Tim has had Heatbox at a couple of his birthday bashes, so they've also kept in touch. The Sing-Off definitely made the a cappella community more close-knit and it's cool to see the lasting friendships that formed.

Jillian, love the way you wear your heart on your sleeves! It was the producers who set up the dynamic of Home Free as a Country group, they weren't Country before and definitely they selected Austin as lead singer and Tim as the Bass God. The whole group went along with it in order to get what they wanted. Rob eventually came into his own.

Thanks for taking us on this "Sing Off" journey. Home Free deserved to win as they were hands down the best group & they were consistently good on all their songs. Storytime with Tim is hilarious!! There are quite a few, but I highly recommend "Barnacles", "Angler fish" (only after watching Barnacles!), and "Natemares"!! LOL Oh, I can't remember what the title is, but there's one where he reads lyrics to a couple songs - look for "Whip nae nae lyrics"!! 😁 That one is funny in a twisted way. Watching Austin dance and Rob laughing his butt off at Tim is great. 😉 Tim's dry wit and perfect comedic timing is ridiculous. If HF ever calls it quits (God forbid!), Tim could easily be a standup comedian! 😉😂

Have absolutely loved this journey with y'all through all the Sing-Off performances! The trophy (last I heard) resides in Chris' bathroom. Chris' and Adam's church in Mankato MN held a watch party for the finale, which was quite fitting, as that was where HF had it's very first performance.

There are so many REALLY funny bits from concerts over the years. Story timecw/Tim (stwt) evolved into a regular bit for a year or 2 in the concerts. My favorite is probably "Whip nae nae", but many good ones. He eventually stopped doing them unless he has a new story-worthy occurence. Very rare now. As others have said - STWT - several good ones Funny Introductions derailed (mic stands) Austin forgets the words... Guilty pleasures derailed Ironically, like with many independent artists, the recording contract became a mixed blessing and HF ultimately wanted out for more flexibility. Luckily they had become pretty good friends with the Sony contact and he let them get out painlessly.

For HF Christmas songs, if you have time: Their newest is REALLY a funky bop and different from most seasonal songs, Christmas in L A.; Most Fries put Adam's arrangement of "Do You Hear What I Hear" near the top of their lists. For funny, "Cold Hard Cash" is a HF original. Any of the traditional holiday songs are really pretty. "Amazing Grace" w/Peter Hollens is wonderful. Happy Holidays all!

Austin forgets the words are some of my favorites. The guys try to hold it together while he nonchalantly plays it off. When I saw Sweet & Low Music Company (Tim and Austin’s other band) over the summer, we were treated to Austin forgetting the words TWICE (and Tim starting in the wrong key due to being on keyboard duty). Another one to look for is Home Free falls in Denver 2018.
