I was thinking to be a home inspector, until I read somewhere something like it is better being a carpenter or an electrician or hvac plumbing with experience and skills... which means only those mentioned above will succeed as home inspector!!!! Is that right ?

Sounds like that "statistic" is based on the idea of pre-existing knowledge, pretty obviously. If you are a hungry and fast learner, you shouldn't be too far behind.

wrong! YOU ARE NOT TO STATE ANYTHING OTHER THAN DEFECTS- IT IS A HOME INSPECTION - NOT HOME EXTORTION. You create a lot of provocaitive language that creates doubt and scare tactics for the seller.

I disagree. A home inspection is ver valuable, because it provides information that a client needs and is requesting to know and understand. What a client loves about a house (the beautiful and good and wonderful things) are not the job of a home inspector. Home inspectors are hired to find problems. Not every home has defects, but some do. And that's the value of hiring an inspector.

@@internachi Clearly you did not read my post above- Yes you are to find problems. Not create problems that don't exist, not inflate simple issues that can be fixed easily, not use provocative and sometime very incorrect language to distort the truth - which does happed and scares people. Like using words such as "MAJOR ROOF ISSUES" when simple correction are needed. And like the use of major structural issues- when you are NOT a structural engineer. I know because I am one. Finding potential problems is a good thing, overstating and inflating simple fixes is not.
