Thank you for great demonstration. Wish I had the metal skills to do something like this. I like the lift and the multi split wedge. One and done. I use a sledge and a wedge. Sometimes a maul. I just can't keep doing this as I'm getting older. Three cords swinging a sledge is wearing out the shoulders and hands

How many gallons per minute is the pump? What tonnage is the ram? And how many horsepower are the electric motors? I want to geek out on the details
@mika69ize Жыл бұрын
Hi, overall flow is 23l/min, so about 6 gallons. The motors are 3kw each, so total power 6kw. I dont no exact diameter of the piston, guessing 125mm, cylinder outer diameter is 140mm. So at max pressure 210bar the force is about 25 metric tons.

Hi, i really cant say. 95% of the wood that i split is birch, alder, spruce and pine. Here, in Finland we dont have much hardwood. And when we do have, it is tought to be too valuable to "waist" burning. This oak was strike by lightning and we make table out of it. photos.app.goo.gl/gPbHAs4gG3dUWhir9

Fun when you get a big block stuck on there. Ya need a thicker push plate....surf the salvage yard for 1 inch and weld a grid of 1inch nuts to it
@mika69ize2 жыл бұрын
Actually, i havent have a bromlem with big woods. But few times i have got a good jam with small ones. A big diameter wood pushes previous wood thru and clears the wedge. Too small wood can wedge whit previous wood and create a good jam. But overall im happy with the machine and it is ok for my needs. The steel is too thin on the push plate. And many other places too. Did not understand, why the commorsial machines used so thich steel. Now i do.

Giljotiinikone olisi hyvä kaveri tuolle, jolla menis pienemmät puut nopeaan.

@mika69ize Жыл бұрын
😅 True. Actually havent use the lift too much. One time even tought that that was a waste of time to build it. But then again, this winter splitted some large birch and then it is nice to have lift when one peace weight is 40-80kg. And there is pritty obvious desing flaw. The splitting operation handle is on the other side than the lift. You can reach it, but litlle unplesent to use like that. The handel sould have been center of the machine.
