I have also been gargling salt water for sore throat all of my life and it works!

Thank you for your suggestions. I am 78 and having problems with the cough, irritated throat, and mucus in my lungs. It’s still a problem even after getting Covid nearly 3 weeks ago. (Vaccinated and boosted) Raised head and ginger tea has really helped. I’ve never smoked in my entire life and eat a plant based diet, but this virus really went after my normally healthy lungs! Still a mild case, but very annoying, so thanks for the help.

What works better than salt water is Italian Salad Dressing! I had a very bad sore throat and as many others did, I used salt water, But I really couldn't gargle it for some reason. After trying for several days and barely eating, I was craving a salad of tomatoes, cucumber and onions drenched in Italian salad dressing. This seemed to really help, and I believe it's because of the oil sticking to my throat, which helps sooth a very dry sore throat. In case anyone is wondering what brand of Italian Dressing I used, it's Ken's. Unlike the warm salt water, try Italian Dressing instead. Make a salad or have a little cup of Italian Dressing to drink. My belief is it works better the salt water because it sticks to your throat to coat it, where the salt water will wear off in a couple of seconds. Italian Dressing, who knew? And it tastes better, too!
@CB-wq9wp11 ай бұрын
I tried this, and it really helped! However, i got a different brand of Italian dressing, because Ken's contains MSG.

I am 77 years old. Fairly fit, eat sensibly and very stubborn. I stopped taking up my 5th vaccine booster. Without home test kits, as they are only issued free to people with existing medical conditions, we are not to know if we have COVID or not. As we can only guess from your guidelines, that we may be experiencing Covid, I find these tips very helpful. If I may, I would like to add good breathing exercises especially those related to dispelling phlegm. I have been practising breathing exercise for a while and have benefited from this practice in a very big way.

When I have to cough it hurts it even more. I have had some camomile tea with honey that helped a little, I had an ice pop before that which on throat felt good and helped quenched my thirst but made me cough unfortunately due to the cold irritating my chest area. But the doctor didnt perscribed anything, i only asked him for antihistamines just in case. He suggested gastroscopy if IT doesnt go away. Im quite nervous, inpatient and just angry this takes quality of life for so long. I took antibiotics perscribed by another doctor 6 weeks ago, it didnt help at all. I'm now drinking 4 to 5 cups green tea daily with some calamansi and a little honey. My first time to have COVID and my only two symptoms are sore throat and an occasional cough and no fever. Good day doc! My hubby and first born son got an overnight fever, my 2 year old boy for 3 days, and I am on my 5th day now, still having fever (fatigue, super dry cough and blocked nose on one side). Severe sorethroat is gone thank God. My question is, am I gonna get the severe form of covid? Cough is very very bad it wont allow me to sleep. Sometimes the cough does not stop so I catch my breath and tears fall on my cheek. I am worried why my fever lingers. We are just at home.

I’m in Scotland, my throat is killing me, it’s agony. I’ve never felt pain in the throat like it. My voice sounds terrible I can hardly sleep. I’m middle aged and if good fitness. Really tired.

@@jenniferjohnson6814 Same!! I’m always active and it’s the 3rd day on the sofa, I’m absolutely drained! It’s the start of another pandemic in the way that it’s spreading so quickly, more and more infected. Asymptomatic spreading in the workplace. I think it’s the new double mutation called Omicron XE. 🤒

I truly understand. It’s such a painful sore throat. I mixed honey lemon and peppermint tea or ginger tea. Hope this help.

@@kesareed448 I cannot taste or smell anything now and I do not have the sense of hunger. I should enter some spicy eating competitions 😂 it’s so depressing. Very strange. I’ve tried mustard straight. Nothing. Cheese 🧀 nothing. I don’t know if milk is off, I don’t know if chicken has spoiled, I couldn’t smell a gas leak. But I’m absolutely fine 👌🏻👍🏻 (The sore throat went after 6 days. I cough a lot now)

Post covid two months with post nasal drip cough, sore throat. Manuka honey, about 1/4-1/2 tsp. Camomile tea with honey helps calm cough. Gargling with warm salt did not help at all. I drink 8 glasses of water a day, but that even irritates my cough. Eating irritates my throat. I am still waiting it out.

I'm on my 3rd week since testing positive for covid. First time I've caught it, unvaccinated. I have a mucus cough and now a sore throat the last 2 days. I feel very tired. I can sleep till lunchtime and still sleep all night. I've lost weight n just don't feel good. I still have muted sense of smell and taste. I've been sleeping elevated since I found out I was positive. Il try your other tips. I heard green tea is good and eating cacao nibs

I was on the natural treatment bandwagon for 18 months before deciding to stockpile Iver. Thank God I did that because I was able to take Iver from day one when I got covid a month ago. I was still pretty sick. Looking back, if I was on the natural treatment, I would have ended up in the hospital and may die. Herbs/Supplements may work on some but maybe totally inadequate for others. Had I given the virus 2 weeks to replicate out of control, I'd be in the hospital and have severe damage from the virus. Sure, do all the things you listed, but get real anti viral drugs (Iver, H See Q) to be safe.
