I have been quietly watching you for a few years now (since you were expecting Harper) but, never commented. I want to tell you that you encourage and inspire me. You are a woman after my own heart. I 've been in a Job season for many years now which has made mobility really tough. As such, the things that I love to do (plant care, home decorating/maintenance, cooking) I have been unable to do. I. know that our savior is sovereign and that he is working this all for my good and I look forward to whatever he has in store. Meanwhile, thanks for letting me live vicariously through you. You are a Proverbs 31 woman and your family is blessed to have you.

I have a suggestion for your snake plant, you should be able to divide it into smaller sections so find a nice upright section and plant it into a pot, they like to be kind of cramped in their pot so pick a smaller rather than larger pot. You could pot up several or just toss the parts you don’t like!

When I was born, my Mom was given a snake plant and she had it for 19 years. The only reason she "lost" it was because we moved and she had to massively downsize and she couldn't take her plants. I know what you mean about small changes to brighten your corner of the world. We recently took down an art picture and replaced it with a gallery wall of family pictures and a couple of sconces (Great Goodwill find!) and it has TOTALLY changed our living room. It instantly made it more homey. It's amazing how those little tweaks change it so much! Thanks for posting and sharing your journey with us! 😊

I love all your plants! I really love the one on your mantle. Where I'm living right now i don't have many windows for light so i only have one pothos plant. I usually have my porch covered with flowers & plants, but we're going to be moving soon so i didn't plant this year. We are possibly moving to Florida, just outside Tampa where my son & his family live. We have an opportunity, so were going down Thursday to stay for 2-3wks & ck things out. If we move down I hope to find a place with a screened back porch area.. mosquito's are horrible there🥴 but also i can have lots of plants & flowers. I just love your outside area in the back!! The room spray has some nice notes in it, i bet it does smell really good!! I feel the same way about any home i live in, i always make wherever I'm living feel like home in whatever ways i can! That's great advice.. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home with us & for the encouragement😊

You can’t underestimate how a can of paint can transform the entire look of an area. Our deck furniture was looking soooo dated and we bought a can of spray paint and 2 small containers of sample paint. Bought one new rattan chair and the paint revived the rest! We are so pleased with it!!! We think it looks amazing, we spent minimal $$ and saved our landfill! Win win win!

Your snake plant, they are amazing at cleaning the air in a house. They really belong in bedrooms, bathrooms, by litter boxes and trash cans, by spaces where smelly shoes/things are. Yours looks like it needs to be separated and fertilized. Used coffee grounds work amazingly. You have plenty enough to put a small snake plant in every corner of your house! In our kitchen/pantry remodel, I set our pantry door at an angle like yours. 😂 Yes, I know.... I really like how yours flows so a few weeks ago, when I was taping it out on the floor, I was listening to your video and saw that detail, taped it out and my husband LOVED it. 🤷 I put both of our refrigerators inside the pantry, sounds crazy but I don't like seeing them. 🤔. I would really like to have a monstera plant, but haven't bit that bullet yet. I had a fiddle fig leaf plant that I killed. Or it decided to pass on, whichever way you choose to look at it. 😂 The chairs on the patio by the pool, would you mind sharing where those are from? And are they as comfortable as they appear?

Hi Lynette! For your plants, I have heard wonderful things about water that has been infused with banana peel. Noemi of Scandish Home uses this… you need to soak the banana peels for two weeks then use the water for your plants. I have not personally tried but I’ve seen this method numerous places. Thank you for your authentic and inspirational videos.

We just moved into an apartment that has a ton of windows - 14 - large windows that face east or SE so they'd be great for plants. I'd have houseplants everywhere but we like to take long vacations 3-5 weeks at a time and I hate to have to bother someone to water plants so I did buy some faux plants to decorate with, & they look good but I do miss having real.

Absolutely love all your house plants 🪴 I'm a crazy plants lady 😂 Instead of watching your plants directly from tap water, I would recommend letting the water stand 24h so the chlorine can evaporate first, or use distilled water. Also just a reminder the zz plant is poison to children/pets. I have one too, I keep it up on a shelf so grandkids can't get at it. Love your home, it is so welcoming. 🏡 Have a lovely day 🌿💙

It's funny you mentioned needing three coats of paint on your walls. I just finished painting my bedroom closet this morning and I took it from a dark red to a cream color. It was a chore. I thought using a paint/primer combo would work, but like everything else, they've made the paint more expensive, but apparently not as good quality as it used to be. It looks fine now, but I think I'm going to possibly need four coats on the bedroom walls and I'm not looking forward to that!! Have a great week!!

Lynette, what do you recommend for cleaning windows? Windex and paper towels just leaves streaking after they have been power washed.
@joyogilvie36395 ай бұрын
Your trailing plants will become fuller if you pinch back the trails. And they won't look so sparse. It will cause the plant to go back to the original and sprout new vines(legs). Just think of it as keeping the hair healthy by trimming the ends. Also the cuttings can be used for new plant starts. ( also which can be transplanted into the pot if you like) Just place them in water in a sunny place until they grow roots. Choose a day of the week for watering and be consistant. If you do any cactus plants, my grandfather would water those when it rained outside. lol. Only fertilize your plants no more than once a month. And do give your plants a shower or damp wipe down once in a while to open up the pores from dust and such. Other than that you will learn what they tolerate as you work with them. Some do not like to be moved around at all. And others need to be turn and rotated so they don't lean one way toward the sun. Lots of little tricks.
