Great setup Marshal. Especially like the classic Rolands. I’ve always felt that the JD/JP/V-synth were some of Roland’s most powerful, unique machines that don’t get the love they deserve. Awaiting their future digital flagship synths.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! Okay, time to actually watch the video... Way to throw the Venom under the bus. Epic. Zencore called out! Spicy. Wicked DX-7 burn. I wish you could still get a MIDINES. I suddenly have the desire to do a synth trash-talking episode with the boys.

Absolutely stunning setup and gear. I just love how you seemed to have a sound tool for every job at your disposal. Good choice on Td sounds better than the xoxbox imo. Bought one years ago sold it. Good call on monitors. If it ain't broke dont fix it.
@MarshalArnold4 жыл бұрын
Hey Adam! Thanks man, yeah it does help having a wonderful selection of instruments to call on for things. Guess I'm glad I never pulled the trigger on the xoxbox then lol I remember the promo vids made me think it was as close to an OG as you could get.. Maybe at the time that was true.. But def no longer.

Agree monitors are most over rated studio gear..got whole on that subject lol
@impurfekt4 жыл бұрын
@@InkyDaCaT From a practical standpoint monitor technology hasn't made any meaningful advancements in decades. Nothing wrong with picking a set that's in good working condition and sticking with it until it dies.

Thanks for sharing. I wish you would have touched on the power supplies. You have at least 50 things plugged in & those rooms probably have 3 outlets, how do you do it?
@MarshalArnold4 жыл бұрын
Oh, I use Furman M-8X2 power conditioners. Have 4 of those in the main room and 2 in the second. They allow 8 devices at once. I have several outlets in the room and have spread the power as evenly as possible. Works well, knock on wood no issues and it's rare I have everything powered up all at once. Hope that helps!
@MarshalArnold4 жыл бұрын
Wanted to add I have a few regular power strips as well, but those mostly are for the PCs, cameras and displays.

Hey, nice to meet you via Reverb. I love all the classic Rolands. Let's just say my studio is a little bit more "streamlined" than this. Teacher salary, you know. I hope to see you get some nice creative use out of the Prophet '08.

Nice setup but was puzzled why so many patch cables. Don't you have your synths normalled through to your mixer inputs?
@MarshalArnold4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yes normaled through the patch bay. Top row is all the synths, bottom row goes to the mixer. Only 16 ins on the mixer and 24 outs for synths, so the patching allows me to route any synth at anytime very easily.

Marshal Arnold for starting out with 2 cameras which would you grab? Is there a switcher?
@MarshalArnold4 жыл бұрын
Would depend on budget and skill with cameras, but a good Sony or Canon mirrorless or DLSR would be good, but GoPro cams are nice too because they're cheap compared to other cams, and are small and easy to use. As for the switching, the software on the PC handles that in my setup. I use Blackmagic intensity pro capture cards in that machine and connect the cams straight to those. Then I use a Stream Deck to switch shots on the fly. Can use a mouse as well, so Stream Deck not necessarily needed other than for convenience.
