Coffee fixes everything. It wipes out bad smells in my room, gets rid of the roaches hiding behind my fridge, keeps me awake in the morning, helps me with company while at work... It has yet to fix my relationship, but it's getting there.

One other thing that works really well for the white plastic parts, is to place them under the sun for a couple of hours. It worked really well on a white pickguard I bought for an old strat.

Quick pro tip for ageing your knobs; lightly rough up the surface with steel wool. The staining will be stronger and more random. Can't wait to see your new digs!

Tips here: when your knobs are loose just pry open the shaft of the pots a bit. They're slotted and can be bent open or back.

You can also line the inside of the knob with a small strip of sandpaper and it will hold it snug against the pot shaft.

Hi, Paul. If the volume pot on the Strat is a split-shaft type, you can insert a flat-head screwdriver in the slot and widen it slightly to hold the knob more securely.

if your tone / volume pot has a split shaft use a screw driver to GENTLY spread the ends apart then put your knobs back on and voilà your knobs won’t keep turning!
