We all know Kevin's traps in the original were brutal, but they made sense because Harry and Marv actually posed a danger to him. I know the kid in this film thinks he's going to be kidnapped, but the audience knows that the stakes aren't that high, so the traps he sets end up feeling sadistic rather than fun. And making the kid so unlikable didn't help

That was the whole point of the original- Kevin was defending his home from 2 thieves trying to break in and leave his house empty: rightfully call it self-defense. An unnecessary remake shows an effing spoiled and unlikable brat torturing the most stupid grown-ass couple to ever exist in film from allegedly recovering their rightful belonging. I just LOATHE every tiny thing in this film.

And also, as much as Kevin's traps were deadly/dangerous they were a lot more cartoonish, I think. This little shid straight up cracked a man's skull with a fugging pool ball and set a woman's feet on fire! Besides, in the original movies it also adds to the comedic effect that Harry and Marv are so dang stupid, like, they fall into 4 of Kevin's traps right away are still aren't on the look out for other possible traps. For example, the whole sequence of Marv trying to go from the basement to the first story of the house. And Kevin was so lovable and iconic, he was just mad that everyone in his family had seem to forget about him or not care about him. This boy was hateful from the very beginning, disrespectful, annoying as fugg and just overall mean with no reason

@@chiaragervasio5189 I don't even know if that's it. Home Alone 1 felt very "preachy" to me too at times, but my whole family and I still loved every minute of it. When I say "preachy" I'm referring to him learning a lesson about missing/loving/needing his mom and his family after all. And the mom and his family learn a similar lesson regarding him. They literally had him wish his family away, and his mom warning him that it might actually come true. That part alone felt very similar to the start of a lot of moralistic fairytales you hear as a kid. It was still an awesome family movie, and better yet that part actually added to the movie feeling more heartfelt. Same thing goes for (family) sitcoms btw. There are so many good ones from a few decades ago. I genuinely can't name a single seriously good one in the same type of genre from the last 10 years. Genuinely don't know why movies and tv haven't been doing so good. The 90s stuff I loved still had lots of the "preachy" stuff, especially the sitcoms (think of Fresh Prince). But it just isn't the same now. It feels annoying, unnecessary, artificial, or plain stupid in a lot of the stuff they try to put it in now. Don't know why.

16:51 In home alone 2, Kevin bought some ornaments for charity or some shit. That little kid was a philanthropist

one of the best things about the first home alone movies is that the audience is also able to root for kevin but with this one they tried to be smart and humanize the “villains”. it annoys me so much

i love watching these because that means i don't have to watch the movies myself i just get a glimpse and mostly that's all i need.

I love that Dylan begins every movie commentary by saying he wants someone to die, but that went from general murder to kid killing really quick

I love how bitter Dylan is, like damn, man just looks like he’s really going through some things.

I think this's one of the angriest videos of Dylan. His hand couldn't actually stop from trying to hot someone.

I love Dylan, but I also love to see him annoyed and angry. His body parts literally become independent, sometimes its his tongue, brain and now hands 😂😂

Dylan not noticing that the spacebar only works when the timeline is already visible and otherwise is responsible for showing the timeline is my favorite part of this video :D

One of the highlight from this commentary: Watching Dylan play with the spacebar and having the best time
@Subaltern_Whisper3 жыл бұрын
This is not related to this specific video, but I love that Dylan and generally the troublemaker community looks at the world like, yeah... shit is f**ked in the world, but instead of wanting to die or be miserable, we are just gonna be... and go with our days, crack a joke here and there, and make comedy out of depressing stuff. Thanks Dylan!
