Awesome job! I love how you blacken the walls. I am currently working on my basement home theater. Been at it for about a year. I also have ceiling tiles. Can't wait to see how you get the ceiling tiles black.

Thanks man! I’ve gotten a bit further blacking out the walls but took a break for a bit… but going to move along further hopefully in the coming months. Blacking it out has really changed the whole feel of the room… still trying to figure out the ceiling! I will update the video when I get more complete with the black out.

Thanks will do!! I used these(link below) they are a little pricy but I bought a little at a time over the past month… initially this project was going to be cosmetics only then I got the kick for a projector as I saw how cool the panels looked on the wall. I also used plane square black panels too they are significantly cheaper also liked below a.co/d/9FV3w5A Plain Black link: a.co/d/5np8riS

We think alike. About 6 months ago I moved my gear to an adjacent room on a shelf similar to yours. It's so easy to access things now when I'm troubleshooting. Wish I'd have done it sooner. I also suspended my screen from the ceiling. You're the first person besides myself I've seen to do this. In my case it was because I have an AT screen and didn't want to build a complete false wall. Curious why you did it and what's actually hold your screen in back. Nice project and video!!!

The reason I did it is my walls are NOT made out of dry wall… I have an earlier video on this but I think when I post my next progress video I’ll cover this again and more deeply…. The walls are made by Owens Corning it’s called their “basement finishing systems” it’s all fiberglass panels with cloth on them. There is no way to anchor my screen to them so suspending it was the best option… I used foam yoga blocks with hot glue and double sided tape to make sure the screen was completely flat against the wall.

I would have bought the LS12000 too but decided on the Epson 6050UB. for now I still like a lamp base projector since I watch a lot of contents and play my Xbox all the time to my 6050ub. I know the LS12000 is a great projector but laser only lasts 20,000 hrs but what do you with project once the laser light is spent. Replacing the laser for the projector is not going to be cheap. I can always replaced the bulb under $200.00. Until Epson makes a true 4k projector or a faux 8k laser lasts 100,000 hrs, then it will be worth the money. For now I can always replaced a new lamp bulb to my 6050ub, the picture will be bright and clear just like the first day I turned on my projector. The writing is on the wall for projectors, it will be replaced by the Wall-Tv in 5 years as larger flat screen TVs (micro-LED) become cheap and cheaper. The Epson 6050ub will be my last projector until I get the Wall Tv like everyone else…
@Paranimal86
@Paranimal86 10 ай бұрын
lol the laser will last more than 20,000 hours it’s just it’s brightness will be slightly dimmer by 20,000 hours they say it it will be somewhere closer to 50,000hours. Even if you used it every day for 5 hours a day that’s something like 10 years of life. The laser only loses 20% of its brightness in that’s time; I only run at 75% so over the across of 7 to 10 years I can bump it up. Also by that time I’ll be onto something else in terms of projection/display. Don’t get caught up on e-shift this latest version moves in 4different directions at 240hz and is a True 4K and the /1080p panel does allow it to be the brightest anywhere near this point in the laser department. You’re kidding yourself if you think you can spot the difference from a native 4K display and in real world testing it appeared sharper than the JVC NZ7 and on par with the Sony. The 6050 is a great projector but if you use it as much as you say your going to have significant brightness loss after the first year and will have to swap bulbs constantly to keep that brightness up there.

Awesome screen sir! What Focal bookshelf speakers are those in the box? And also what is your receiver? Where did you get the wall plaques?
@Paranimal86
@Paranimal86 11 ай бұрын
Thanks man!! The speakers are the matching Focal Chora bookshelves. My AVR is a Pioneer VSX-LX504 it can power up to 9 channels like seen here in my video and processes for 11 so I need to get a separate amp for them. It’s actually a very nice sounding receiver, however I am eyeballing the Sony ES AZ7000 receiver. The plaques I got from a guy custom made them for me on Etsy, he however is no longer making them, and I can’t track him down. I’m bummed cause I was going to see if he could make me a old school Sony SDDS sign that u use to see at theaters back in the earl/mid 90s.

Nice setup, I’m looking at purchasing a LS12000 and ST 150” screen. Did you calibrate it yet? You on the AVS forum?
@Paranimal86
@Paranimal86 11 ай бұрын
Thanks I’ve found a couple settings and adjustments I like from the preset options I really like the bright cinema settings and I did some adjustments to color temp but that’s it… I haven’t delved deep into calibration too much. I did try some settings from the AVS forums however I preferred what I tried so far over it. Out of the box though this projector looks great. I love the LS12000 I think it is the absolute best value in terms of pro cinema projectors on the market. Having the headroom for brightness for a large 150” screen is important, the LS12000 is probably a very good fit for you, you would have to spend a lot more money to get something better and brighter and it wouldn’t be that much better.

@@Paranimal86 Thanks the reply. Yeah I’ve researched this PJ a lot, but also comparing to 98/100” TV. Concerned the picture won’t be good enough compared to a large TV. Also, don’t want to deal constantly changing PJ settings depending on the source content. I want set it and forget it.

@@briang3551 honestly in some aspects I think this PJ preforms better than the 75” 900e I had especially in the light bloom aspect… I don’t think you will have to constantly change settings, so far I’m really happy with the settings I found. I game on it as well… The whole projector experience is just awesome.

@@briang3551 just watched that video lol definitely something completely messed up with either his settings and or camera …: the opening of Top Gun Maverick comes to mind it has many bright to dark scenes it looks incredible on my LS12000… the scene where they are suiting up Maverick to fly alone is a torture test for contrast alone, he’s wearing all black you can see every fiber in the velcro and suit. Hello, Is it possible to know the width of your screen? How high is the bottom of the image from the floor? And what is your viewing distance? Thank you very much
@Paranimal86
@Paranimal86 10 ай бұрын
With the frame it’s 100.75” across 58.75”. My seats are about 8 feet away from the screen. As far as height from the floor I’d say it’s about 2 feet or so, I’d have to measure but I’m not home to give exact numbers. I’ll send a link to the exact screen I have. I’ll grab the height and distance later when I get a chance. www.silverticketproducts.com/products/str-169110-g
