I used to like this show more at the very beginning, when the houses were more simple. I did like this one however. These luxurious mantions are much too luxurious. After all these families are not billionaires. Certain children's bedrooms especially, would not withstand the time, as children's tastes change as they grow older and the parents won't be able to afford transforming them to an older child's taste. I do like that they give them nice gifts, especially the scholarships.

Extreme Makeover. If you are truly sincere in providing and getting a very safe home, you truly need to REDUCE using wood by at least 95%. What you should do is .... 1) Demolish the house. 2) Dig up all the grass, earth, trees, tree trunks, roots, vines, weeds, hedges, bushes from the property (including beneath the house). 3) Fill up the entire huge hole with high quality concrete cement. 4) Then lay another layer of high quality concrete cement whereby the house will be build. The height of the layer should be 2 ft. 5) Outline of the house shall be made of high quality bricks + high quality cement. 6) what should be in the house ? - front deck - living hall - dining area - dry kitchen - wet kitchen - 4 bedrooms - 1 study cum multi purpose room - 2 showers cum toilet - laundry drying area 7) Entire roofing for the house should be metal. No insulation needed. Roofing for laundry drying area shall be double asbestos with iron grille. 8) install casement or sliding windows with aluminium metal panel. Install iron grille and mosquito netting screen / netting. Windows and iron grille must have locking system. 9) Aluminium door with aluminium panel for each room. 10) Folded sliding Aluminium vinyl door with aluminium panel for both showers cum toilet. 11) Aluminium glass door between dry and wet kitchen. 12) Aluminium glass door between wet kitchen and laundry drying area. 13) Front main entrance door shall be Aluminium cum metal door. Iron grille and mosquito netting. Door and iron grille must have locking system. 14) Entire flooring in the house should be beige concrete floor tiles. No wooden flooring. No carpet. No adhesive flooring. 15) Walls throughout the entire house should be painted white. Walls (from floor to ceiling) for dry kitchen, wet kitchen, showers and laundry drying area should be white concrete tiles. 16) Ceiling throughout the entire house should be made of the shipping container metal. 17) Wardrobes, queen bed frame for each room should be made of bricks + concrete cement + white concrete tiles. Storage cabinets + kitchen cabinets + filing cabinets + should all be from floor to ceiling. And they should be made from bricks + concrete cement + white concrete tiles. 18) mattresses should be coconut husk. 19) shower cum toilets should have hot water heater, sitting toilet bowl, concrete countertops with large wash basins. Long mirror. 20) heater in each area. 21) fluorescent long lighting bulb :- 2 each in living hall, dining, dry kitchen, wet kitchen, each room. 1 each in shower. 3 each in laundry drying area and front deck. 22) one air conditioning unit in each room and living hall. 23) one ceiling fan each in each room and dining. Two ceiling fans in living hall and front deck. 24) emergency lighting in strategic areas. 25) no lamp. 26) washing machine, very large concrete basin for hand washing, 3 large butterfly clothes hangers WITH 80 figure of 8 clothes hangers and 80 clothes plastic pegs. 27) TV cabinet made of bricks + cement + white concrete tiles. 50 inch flat LCD screen with TV box and home internet. 28) the only solid high quality wood shall be :- a) two 3 seater cushion sofa with solid high quality wood frame. For living hall. b) coffee table with glass top. For living hall. c) one dining table (with glass top) with dining chairs for 6 pax 29) Front deck - half brick wall, windows, iron grille and mosquito netting/screen at windows. Part of the front of the front deck will have aluminium metal door + iron grille + mosquito netting / screen. Water pipe - to wash feet before walking barefoot into living hall. No outdoor footwear in the house. Shoe cabinet and shoe rack. Place to put 4 golf dry umbrellas. 4 sturdy metal chairs with metal glass table. 30) all of them will have to mop the entire floor on alternate days. Plus, they have to wipe every countertop on alternate days. Scrubbing and washing of the entire showers cum toilet every 3 days. After each cooking, wash wet kitchen floor. 31) Cameras installed at strategic areas. 32) Brick wall with concrete cement, then painted beige at the outline of the property AND half of the front part. Place beige concrete floor tiles on the cement flooring. The remaining half part should be iron grille sliding gate with locking system. 33) if they want to plant flowers, herbs then they can put in potted plants. Get a rack with several layers to arrange the flower pots and herb pots. By doing the above, the entire house will look Extremely clean, neat, tidy, bright, organized and spacious.
