I like the mirror, i'm just not sure whether it would be too much wood, since you already have a lot of wooden furniture. I think a mirror with a metal frame e.g. would bring in more texture and be more interesting. I do understand though, that you like the lights on it.

I love the aquired look of your home. I have some really cool and weird/unique pieces I've collected over the years and some beautiful antiques I inherited from my aunt, who was in the arts and fashion industry. My home is not an Instagram beige/clean area moment, but it's curated and makes me happy. I think it's so much more comforting to have items in your home that make you smile, giggle, remind you of a loved one etc than to keep up with trends that come and go. Just my take on interior design.

I love that you show a realistic, slow, process of Home updates. Cool choices for the bedside table, desk and mirror. To choose the mirror, I would compare it to other things I love, which I would have to pay about the same amount of money, and this helps me prioritize my love for those things. :P About burnout.. Personally, the earlier I get up, and consistently, the more eager I am to get up and more excited to start my day. I still had to change the time I go to bed, 10pm. I learned that at this time our brain is sorting and organizing our new knowledge AND that as for going to bed/getting up at varying times, that it is always better to get up at the same time, even if it means take a nap or go to bed earlier the next day. Maybe this can help. :)

Paige if you buy the mirror (which is beautiful) be aware that you may need to have it rewired as Italy uses 230 volts compared to 120 volts in the USA. I know this as a Scottish person who has purchased electrical goods from the USA (and had to buy a voltage converter!)

I think it looks like a standard E14 socket with a glass shade on top so in my opinion, it will be okay to just replace the bulb, for example with an E14 LED bulb that works for 110V. You don’t really see if it has a plug but changing the 50 years old wire would be a good idea anyway

Your bedroom is giving 1930’s cruise ship stateroom! Cool mobile. Love the chrome on the new nightstand. Play that up and consider A frameless vintage mirror over the desk, round or arched to offset all the hard lines. Antique bathroom cabinet mirrors are typically arched and have cool etched patterns around the border. Try re-purposing your old nightstand baskets for your laundry.

Knitting is great! 🧶 I could knit and crochet by first grade. But it was Ocean Park in the 60s. Some teachers and daycare center staff were hippies still in or right out of college. They played guitar and sang folk songs in class. ☮️✌🏾 It was all Peter, Paul, and Mary and day trips to the beach. 🌊🏄🏾♀️🏖️ Sorry . . . your yarn and needles brought it all back. 😂

HEY ! I am doing a similar panel with large needles and yarn. my original plan was to make two garter stitch panels to make a bag, but quickly realized I won't have enough yarn to complete both panels. I switched plans and am going to make a rectangle for the front and sew it to a canvas backing. It is going to be awesome - or is in my brain anyway. Have fun!

Welcome to the Knitters Club 😃 All I had ever knit for years was scarves. Then just this last year I asked myself, “how hard is it really to knit a sweater?” and I discovered, thanks to easy knit along tutorials on KZbin …. Not that hard, actually. Like anything, you can make it complicated and intense if you want, but really, the basics are pretty basic. The hardest part is getting over the fear of frogging (undoing) your work to correct mistakes. But just pull the ripcord and go for it. It’s so satisfying. I now have some pretty amazing sweaters in my wardrobe, my daughter has one, and I’m about to start a cable knit sweater for my husband. Everyone is so impressed with me and I’m not dispelling them by telling them how shockingly easy it’s been hahah

The scarf 💜 you’re knitting is going to be beautiful and the tan jacket is perfect! Also, the new side table - super versatile. Side note: If you’re like me and don’t see a stylist often, then it might be worthwhile to consult w/ the owner of a top salon (LA/NY have the best). Old trick to help wood drawers slide well again. You can rub a bar of soap on the bottoms of the drawer where it slides, and on the drawer opening where the slides on the drawer hit. My dad taught me this one. He refinishes wood furniture, and he's used this trick for decades. I use a plain white bar of soap.
@michaelaNkristin8 ай бұрын
That desk is perfect 😊 If the drawer slides are wooden and not metal, a bar of soap might help it slide in and out easier and could be more accessible than wd40. I just got my grandma’s old desk and also hope to use it as a vanity ❤

Hi Paige, I am in need of your help! I would love to know your opinion on what you would do in my position. I have a desk and nightstand that I need to paint because there's nothing beautiful to save underneath them, so if you absolutely HAD to paint furniture, how would you make it work? I'm thinking red, but am so drawn to colors similar to Chilled Wine (also Behr Dried Chamomile), but what do you think? They're more traditional, but like "soft" traditional, like appropriate for a child's room or a feminine space Not sure if you collect these kinds of questions for later, but thought I might ask. Love everything about your home and excited for the next pillow drop! 🤍

To save $'s you can make the style of mirror you really like. Easy project. It appears having a frameless mirror & a sconce with white globes on both sides attached to a nice piece of wood. This ties the white and wood pieces together. Either way, it's a cool style to use as inspiration to create from. Try switching the direction of the night stands to possibly fit fit both of them since the window shortens the width of wall space. It would be great if you can find a home for the mobile inside the house.
