I think a big arched mirror would look good in that spot, but if you want to also put a shoe rack there maybe a slimmer one so the space doesn't feel too cramped? or maybe make a collage wall so you can put a mirror there and the artwork you already have and more. I say yes to the bangs! especially because it's winter time for you, idk why but I think bangs look adorable when you're all wrapped up in a beanie and scarf.

I think you should def put a mirror on that wall. A big mirror but not to the floor. Under it you could put a bench that has two shelves for shoes (Ikea has them but I dont know if you have Ikea there). Then you can use the bench to sit and put on your shoes. When you come home you can place your bags on the bench instead of on the sofa. The bench can also be used for your clothes basket for now so that way you can keep the area around the sofa and fireplace organised which results in less work to do cleaning up.

Came back from my holiday seaside with family to 2 new videos!! Even though i was on holiday I've been feeling quite down but this cheered me up instantly! Love being a homebody! Noting down the soap reference! And omg I was talking about my aussie friend about winters and summers houses bc she was also telling me australia wasnt equipped for col winters and I was like france isnt either with hot summers bc it's currently 40 degrees but houses dont have AC! We're all really affected by the climate now! Furniture for your shoes would be great ! I need to get one too, bc it quickly make the entry way messy! Good job in sending your illusts!! Suggestion for tea time! I buy local honey and I simply cannot go back to store honey. It's better for your health (because it can keep you from getting sick with local germs!) and it tastes so much better! The small price bump is so worth it. I've gotten my family and some of my friends to stop getting corporate sold honey. Plus it helps your local bees and therefore ecology and agriculture! Very much with the little extra price.

I have the shoe rack from Open Spaces and while it is cute, the width there would make for a very nice wider shoe rack. Ideally one that has doors or is more closed off. I repurposed my Open Spaces one to hold a bunch of supply bins which looks / feels a lot better.

Heya! I'm gonna leave youtube interior designer recommendations here instead. (:P #rebbel) I love interior design and these are my favorite peeps, they've got good tips, even if their style doesn't match yours you'll still find practical tips within their videos: Caroline Winkler, Noah Daniel, Alexandra Gater, and Paige Wassel. Channels that show home tours with inspo and tips: Homeworthy, The Modern House, and Architectural Digest. I think thoughtful storage makes a huge difference in a home so the bookshelves would be really good. Perhaps if you had a lower portion with closed storage even if it's baskets not cupboards. One tip I've heard is to look where mess or objects accumulate, then design storage around where things already end up. Like what you were saying about putting a shoe rack on that wall with a mirror, it would be great. I've also heard it takes 7 years for a home to feel really lived in, so it takes time! Congrats on your next book! Enjoy your visit with your mom! 😀

My cat also isn't the best at laying down on command. I've found patting the ground and doing it on a warmer surface like a rug or couch helps.
