I got a pump when I put together my brewery setup and glad I did. It's great for moving hot liquids and doing a recirculating mash.

Hey Bobby I'd be interested in hearing your opinion on mounting the pump. Can the head be on top, with the pump vertical, so the in & outlets are horizontal? Or should the pump itself be horizontal? Thanks

bertdorf3 the outlet is to be higher than the inlet (ie. the exact position on his explanation or 90° anticlockwise, with outlet upward and inlet downward)

I noticed there's no bleeder valve on this. I understand that they're not required necessarily, but would it be wise to include one when considering this kit?

+Scott Dillow That's correct. A bleeder valve may reduce frustration if you lose prime and have both the inlet and outlet hoses partially filled with air and liquid. Even with the bleeder, you will likely spill a little on the ground/floor trying to purge the air out. I tend to have a 1 gallon bucket handy and I just drop the output hose in to help pull the liquid through.

Great video. If you do another one on pump operation during brewing, could you discuss the electrical side of things? I would like to hook my pump into a switched outlet attached to my (to be built) brew stand, but info on the web is really scattered.
