Hi sam555666. better to strain it to ensure there is no tiny pieces of pandan or undissolved Gula Melaka. Thanks for your comment.

Hi Siti Farrah Syakira Zulbaharin. Thank you for the question. This can be left out of the fridge. It can also last very long time. Please avoid contact with water or the wet spoon or container.

How to store the syrup? Do we have keep it in the fridge or just leave it in room temperature?

How long does the syrup stay safe for consumption? And how do you store it if you can't use it all at once?

Hi Abady M G. It can be at the room temperature. However, if keep it in the fridge, it can stay fresh and last longer up to 10 - 12 months. Thank you for the comment 😀😀

Hi Wendy Lim. I have not done the caramelized gula Melaka before so I am not able to advise on that. As for this recipe, I added a little water to help prevent burning when start cooking and before gula melaka melts to become liquid. I hope this helps. Thank you for the comment 😀

Hi Violet Daisy, thank you for the comment 😄 I would suggest to cook it longer to allow more water to evaporate, however, note that the syrup will thicken as well when it cools down. Hope it helps 😄

Hi Helen Ooi, thank you for the comment 😀 If you mean the gula melaka, I bought it from one of my local shops. However, I find the quality to be not authentic. I would suggest to purchase the gula melaka from this seller on Lazada: hcws.link/gulamelaka The gula melaka is quite soft and authentic. Hi Benny Lie, thank you for the question 😄 I have not tried it before, but it sounds like a lovely combination 😄 It may work well together; but possibly in lesser amounts than white sugar as gula melaka syrup is very fragrant and has a slight roasted taste to it. Hope it helps 😄

Hi Nur Alya. You can estimate the amount of water, just about 1 : 0.5 ratio of Gula Melaka : water
