@@UGWilson Nihilists are actually really reprehensible, but the term "Nihilist" has become synonymous with "Existentialist" which is what creates this confusion. Nihilists believe that nothing has any intrinsic meaning, and we *cannot* create meaning ourselves. This can then be used to justify any and all manner of horrible things, like murder or rape, for personal pleasure. Existentialists also believe nothing has any intrinsic meaning, BUT they believe we *can* create our own meaning. The fact that we are alive and experience emotions, coupled with the fact that others are also alive and experience those same emotions, is enough for Existentialists to not kill and rape for personal pleasure. Nihilists are bad
@a.v.y8331
@a.v.y8331 2 ай бұрын
@@nadivkaspi6211 nihilism itself isn't a reprehensible philosophy. like you said, the core of it is that nothing has meaning, and we cannot create that meaning. by itself, it's neutral. it's a lot of reprehensible people who use this concept of "no meaning" to act as if it's okay to do anything they like because "it doesn't matter anyway". it's the same concept of how most religions at their core have a philosophy of "good actions have good consequences, bad actions have bad consequences, so do good things and not bad things". but a lot of people take it upon themselves to determine what is bad and good and use it to justify their own bad actions. what happens in these two examples are exactly the same - the fundamental philosophy of these means of thinking get polluted and corrupted by human desire or human interest, and are thus used as justifications or frames of mind to commit atrocities without having to reflect on their own moral cores and consciences.

Tell that to Antifa and BLM in Portland, Seattle, New York City, etc. Civil War is on the horizon and no amount of wishful thinking is going to change that fact. I'm a Registered Independent, did NOT vote for Trump in 2016 and probably will NOT vote for him this year. However, if Biden wins, we are all doomed; Bernie, Warren, AOC, et al, will take the reigns, and blood will be running in the streets by this time next year, and EVERY city in America will look like Chicago on a weekend on the hottest day in Summer. Cheers from the Oil Patch in Central WY PS. No, the CW will not begin because Trump lost; it will begin because President Biden will sign executive orders that are, like Obama's DACA, unconstitutional, the Dem controlled House and Senate will pass unconstitutional laws stripping people of their freedoms and rights, that it will be THOSE transgressions which will precipitate the blood letting. The Republic is dying.

@@jrbailey3208 True, I don't believe for one minute you can talk or unite these people. They want the destruction of the US at any cost. Wish it could be as the song states, but too much has happened. I've seen it with my own eyes, where they tried to come into our little community and wreck havoc and destroy everything in their path. However, they seem to forget little rural towns are heavily armed, and they didn't count on the patriots who ran them out of town. There is nothing similar, nor do I have anything in common with those that are killing innocent children, looting and destroying.

I wish I could blare this song at anyone that is being divisive and disrespectful. Encountered a couple horrible humans today. I'm trying to work from a place of love. Trying to understand they may be coming from traumatic circumstances and, as a result, letting their fear rule so they can protect themselves but, today, today was a bridge too far. I let it be known. As John Lewis said, I caused some 'good trouble'. Thankyou guys for being a leading voice for unity!❤ (loooove the hair Tim!)

I am 68 years old and disabled. As such, I watch a LOT of music videos. I fell in love with your music recently. It is so dynamic! I graduated from Syracuse University in art and do a lot of portraiture. If anyone interested, let me know and I'll do one...AT NO CHARGE (That's refreshing isn't it). Tim, you have a fantastic range! I really can't pick my favorite song because they are all my favorites. Your style in my opinion should be one of the top groups right now in music. It's not just the songs. It's the acting you guys do. Well, thank you for your music. It always makes me smile! Sandy Thompson
