My son just decided to switch his LA from TGATB to CLE along with their Reading because he's loved their Math. Going on our 3rd year of Math with CLE and he loves it and is thriving. Not too many reviews for CLE. Nicely done!

Hello. Thank you for sharing. I agree with a lot of subjects you touched on. I never thought of homeschooling. But, because of Covid-19 I decided to. I love homeschooling. It's really bringing her out of the whole she was in as far as academics. I will be checking out C L E curriculum for next year.

I love CLE!! My son who is in 6th grade this year has been using CLE math and Lang. Arts since kindergarten/1st grade. I have never regretted it! From kindergarten through about 4th grade- we had made up a little song that we would sing together when it was time to do the "We Remember" section and he would always end the song by giving me a kiss. He still will occasionally ask me to sing the "We Remember" song before he starts working on it. We have also used the CLE science, reading, social studies, and Bible throughout the years. He sounds a lot like your son, wants to get the work done and then move on to other stuff - no need for all that fluff ;)

I've heard lots of great things about CLE, especially for math. I think that copying out spelling words is a classic, tried-and-true practice method (it's also something that's used in learning Chinese), because the muscle memory is a factor in spelling!

We use The Good and The Beautiful but I don't like every subject in it. My son loves the math and the science is Awesome. I am going to try the new math with my daughter that TGATB just came out with and if she still doesn't like it, then I will try math in CLE. One thing they don't like is the language arts. I am going to order language arts through CLE and see if they like it. It looks really Good to me. We use All about Reading as well for their main reading. I totally forgot about CLE so I am glad I found it again and found your video.

Just wanted to share we are adding EIW for writing composition only to our CLE curriculum. EIW also includes grammer the first half so we'll be only usingvtge last half of their program incorporating writing 2x's per week. Don't want to overwhelm my son with 2 full LA programs.
@HomeFreeAlaska3 жыл бұрын
Hi Dana, no were not using a separate writing program. To be honest, I don't know if it's a boy thing but Parker HATES writing lol. So I think the creative writing that's in his CLE L/A curriculum is just enough lol...he can't handle much more than that right now. So nice to chat with another homeschoolin' mama! :)

To be honest Isela, I don't know. But there are several subjects that are like that. For example, social studies & Bible are also like this...there's not as many light units. Maybe because there is a lot more content in Math & L/A...so there's more light units? I'm just assuming. :)

Hi Sara! Are you here in the United States? If you are, check out your state requirements on the HSLDA’s website. Ill link that for you to check out! It’ll give you all the requirements for your state. For example some states require you file a notice of intent with the school board etc., (sounds scary but it’s really easy). Then you need to decide on your curriculum. If you’re using CLE, you can order the curriculum by grade…makes it really easy. I’ll link that for you too! If you want to talk one on one, feel free to email me directly at blessedandbeautifulhomestead@gmail.com christianlight.org/shop-curriculum/by-grade hslda.org/legal Good luck & remember you CAN do this & you’re not alone! 💗

Could you share some of the academic growth you've seen in him over the time you have been using CLE?
@HomeFreeAlaska2 жыл бұрын
Hello! I think Parker is progressing in his studies tremendously! One of the biggest things that I’ve noticed with CLE, is his ability to independently work. It’s designed for them to be self-motivated and work independently once they learn the concepts. He’s in 4th grade this year & his reading is much faster. He’s learning all kinds of concepts in math & has had zero issues with grasping them. The curriculum is laid out well, step by step. 😊

Long time CLE user here. 🙂 If the courses don't say Sunrise Edition or Sunrise 2nd Edition, like your Science 4 doesn't, they are old Alpha Omega Life pacs that CLE redid to suit their own purposes back in the 80s when they were starting out as a company. We don't do those old courses because they're so dry.

Hi! Thank you so much for making this video. How long does each reading lesson last per day? How long does it take to get through one reading light book? Thank you so much
@HomeFreeAlaska2 жыл бұрын
Hi Heather! Parker & I knock out a reading lesson in about 20-25 min a day. Each light unit book has I think like 16-17 lessons in it & we do reading about 3 times a week. We try to do it everyday but reality is sometimes we don’t get to it. So if we’re doing about 3-4 reading lessons a week, I’d say anywhere from a month to a month & a half it takes us to get thru a light unit book. Thanks so much for watching my video! Blessings to you! 😊

@HomeFreeAlaska3 жыл бұрын
Oh I’d say def not too much work. I do that with my son each day plus science & social studies about twice a week. I’m surprised people are saying it’s a lot because I don’t feel that way. Each lesson is about 3-5 pages but spaced out. It’s not loaded content & a lot of it is redundancy so they get practice with the content. 😊
