The final season of HOMELAND finds Carrie Mathison (Danes) recovering from months of brutal confinement in a Russian gulag. Her body is healing, but her memory remains fractured - which is a problem for Saul (Patinkin), now National Security Advisor to the newly ascendant President Warner (Emmy and Golden Globe winner Beau Bridges). The top priority of Warner’s young administration is an end to the “forever war” in Afghanistan, and Saul has been dispatched to engage the Taliban in peace negotiations. But Kabul teems with warlords and mercenaries, zealots and spies - and Saul needs the relationships and expertise that only his protégé can provide. Ok im gonna go out on a limb here, something bad happens at the beginning forcing Carrie back into her life as a spy. Saul goes back and forth every other episode either loving and agreeing with Carrie or hating her and calling her a traitor or that she's lost her touch. Carrie makes a big mistake and is cast aside but goes at it alone with a group of loyal outsiders who she casually fucks over throughout the episodes. Nobody listens to her. Turns out she was right. It ends with Saul nodding in approval as she smiles back over her shoulder while they go their separate ways....Im still gonna watch it but goddamnit im still mad about Quinn. He was, by far, the best, most loyal character in the whole show....and a complete badass even after being gassed/woken prematurely from a coma/shot/stabbed/shot/shot/ and shot again. Oh and one more thing, Dar Adal will appear every third episode doing shady shit.

It is wild but it’s confirmed they work with the CIA for storylines. Claire says it in some video I saw I think it was a video about the recap of homeland series/final season. Hope they make more. I remember when I started watching season 8 I’m like ok they are in Afghanistan this somehow will be important but at the time it was not in news, but here we are now

@@melissal.4166 Yea Claire Daines dorm mate from college, who is still her best friend is a CIA agent Before the start of every season they would go to DC for what she called a “2 week spy camp” where they would hang out with other agents and people within the “intelligence” agencies, and they would give them actual stories and intelligence (non-classified of course🙄) Season 8 is complete with the President making a deal with the Taliban, everyone wondering if they can be trusted, the references to Saigon and lifting people off the embassy roof and everything Almost forgot…the Presidents chopper goes down and kills everyone on board and a very young, and clueless VP is sworn in as President, and a “Deep state” war monger appears to try to provoke the war into continuing too sooo…….

There were quite a few shows that predicted/could forsee future events. But then again, it was just recognizing patterns and induction. Most of them were based on CIA playbook, LOL. Examples: CONDOR (2018) - "boomerang" effect THE CAPTURE - CIA/MI6 "correction" PERSON OF INTEREST - ASI surveillance state; This one predicted a lot MORE than Homeland, but I just love the portrayal of intelligence services with the latter.

Aside from Madam Secretary, I have yet to see a spy/espionage series that actually tackles the biggest threat that is CHINA. Russia, Middle East, domestic right-wingers, been there, seen that. Would love to see a show that tackles China. Any suggestions?

Even if she did all those terrible things? in seasons 1 and 2 she was almost normal, but later began to be very annoyed and unlikable. quinn could to become the lead character, instead he was just killed off. what a shame! well there was no need to destroy their beautiful duo, only I could tolerate that. big mistake

The writers of this show have no obligation to service the fans. Quinn dying was an integral piece of the story, as much as i loved him like everybody else, it was necessary for him to die. Plus do we even know if the actor wanted to stick around? Get over it. Homeland is great. That is all
