Homeland was a Showtime series that recently released its final season. The CIA show featured a lot of interesting characters who stole the hearts of the audience.
Even those who left the show seasons ago are still loved and well-remembered. Homeland season 8 finished the story of the main heroine. What are the actors going to do now, after it's over? And how will they remember working on this show? Watch our new video to find out!
We won't spoil anything for you, so you can watch this video, even if you haven't seen Homeland finale yet!
Mandy Patinkin as Saul Berenson was one of the most beloved characters in Homeland Showtime. He was in it since the very beginning. What's he going to do after its end?
Damian Lewis, aka Nick Brody, left the show a while ago. Did you know that he was satisfied with how his character ended? Watch the video to learn why!
Morena Baccarin, who played Nick's wife Jessica Brody, left Homeland after the third season and continued a successful career.
Maury Sterling loved playing Max Piotrowski and even confessed that he needs a man like him in his life!
Elizabeth Marvel, or President Elizabeth Keane, was happy to bring this character to life.
F. Murray Abraham played a mysterious man Dar Adal and once confessed that even he didn't know his character well! Watch the video to learn more!
Costa Ronin, aka Yevgeny Gromov, prepared very well for the show and loved the Homeland series finale because it was truthful to all the characters.
Rupert Friend, who played Peter Quinn, left the show two seasons ago. Did you know that he liked that the story of his character ended?
Claire Danes as Carrie Mathison was the main heroine, who came through a lot of challenges. The audience loved her and after Homeland's final season, we're going to miss her. Will Danes miss Carrie, too?

Henry Bromell was a major writer, director, producer and so much more on Homeland until his untimely death from a heart attack in his own home. I taught drums to his son, Willie Bromell, for many , many years and became good friends with Henry and his lovely wife, Trisha. They invited me to several Hollywood movie premiers actually in Beverly Hills and would often include me in their social life in Santa Monica. Henry wrote some of the most dynamic episodes in the 1st several years of Homeland and is credited on every episode as writer, director, exec producer, etc. After his passing, the episodes were a bit softer in their dialogue and in the action scenes. Henry brought much of the fire and sizzle to Homeland and won numerous Emmys during his time .

I hate how Peter Quinn got a stroke because Carrie and Saul woke him up... that was disappointing when I saw how he wound up suffering because of them... and Quinn was a real hitter too... you could not kill that guy off because that character had it all... he was like what Brody would have been... you see the self-sacrifice of Quinn and the adverse sacrifice of Brody in the show... while Quinn was violent and Brody would not stab someone during an interrogation... the tale of two ironies.

I like how this show ended... it was classic with Saul trusting Carrie and she knew she could never come back home so she had to let her daughter know about her journey... people like Carrie have their life journey and they think differently, go the extra mile, and are often on the front lines of what matters big picture... this is why the character of Carrie Matthison was so classic.

Interesting detailed look at “Deception Indicated” with Lesli Linka Glatter. We thought this description of Carrie and Saul’s relationship was especially insightful: Saul and Carrie’s relationship is the foundation of the show. Carrie hasn’t done so well in her relationships with men, but Saul is this father figure/mentor to her. For him, she is a protégé. When Saul asks how she’s doing, he’s told she’s getting better and healing. He makes this choice to take her out. He takes her out because for him, it’s mission first. She isn’t completely honest with him and she puts mission first, too. That whole moment is the irony that makes their relationship complicated and layered and they’re not completely honest with each other. We can say that Saul / Carrie was one of the best-built characters in history - alongside Quinn, Brody, Dar Adal (and Max, Farah, Astrid, Maggie)... It would be possible to clarify the following doubts: - Would you like to see Homeland reveal how the CIA explained Brody in Iran and his death to the American press? - Clearly, Javadi's ability to receive credit for Brody's capture helped his cause in Iran, but did the US government reveal Brody's role in Akbari's murder? - Was your name cleared for the CIA attack? I'd love to know what you think. - Another loose thread: Paul Franklin and the murder of the "real" CIA bomber. He ended up doing that scene ... why ?? Carrie was publicly humiliated, beaten, doped, shot and put her life on the line countless times without hesitation, just to make others see Brody as she saw him ... and she succeeded. Abu Nazir, the CIA, Jessica and the show's own audience, no one came close to seeing Brody with the clarity Carrie has always seen. Carrie has always read Brody like no one else. Ah, Carrie's dialogue with Javadi was incredible, it will be one of the most memorable moments in the series, without a doubt! “And what you wanted, which was for everyone to see what you see in him. That happened. Everyone sees it through your eyes now ... ” - How did Carrie see Brody? and how did the US come to see this? It's the world? The 3rd season did not correspond to the 1st and 2nd as it should be. Compared to most seasons it was weak, as the plot and plot issues that were overlooked or addressed briefly stood out in season 3. There was no "hunting" in Brody's scenes earlier in the season to make it look like he really was desired NOS. Where Roya Hammad and his terrorist partner M.M. They were? We never received an explanation for the events surrounding how Brody's car was moved and his involvement, only what we got was the "real" author of the bomb at the CIA in a hotel that we must believe to be a super leap that changed the script. For such an investment in storytelling around Brody's family over the past 3 seasons, for him to just disappear the way he did, it was a waste of time - to make Dana's story worse, it was shallow. And all those scenes about Mike and Brody's wife continually in love with each other, and just ending up in season three were useless - and Brody's son disappeared. What about Brody's marine friends who thought he was part of the conspiracy? And Quinn's underutilization throughout the season after being instrumental in the beginning of the second season's premiere. All positive points, they should have made the homeland a show of this 3rd season and address every possible plot! Claire Danes and Damian Lewis gave us, in Damian’s words, “two broken-winged birds sort of hobbling and circling around each other” in Carrie and Brody in such a compelling way that even though it really ended in tears, it was a GREAT RIDE as long as it lasted. And if you miss these two as much as we do, you may want to re-live the LOVE with Carrie and Brody: Was It Love? YES. Homeland had a sensible ending, closed all of Carrie's stories, while continuing the ongoing story of America's and Russia's rivalry. The series ends, but does not end, only better than that was seeing all these years incredible performances by Davis, Damian Lewis, Rupert Friend and Mandy Patinkin ...

*Spoilers" Good show. Some seasons were better than others, but in general, it was pretty solid. I loved Carrie's intelligence and ability to do "whatever it takes" to get the job done. I also appreciated that she was such an imperfect heroine. She's got A LOT of blood on her hands. She seriously contemplated drowning her baby and ultimately left Franny.....forever. Daring. The casting was uniformly terrific and kudos to all the actors you mentioned in the video. I liked the way show ended. Perhaps you have to suspend your disbelief a little bit to accept that the Russians would not figure out what she was doing, but it still felt right. I like the open-ended way it ended. I'm not expecting a continuation, but it does leave the door open. Saul and Carrie's relationship was fantastic throughout

And I still cannot comprehend why the show's last season did not receive an Emmy, not even a nomination for best drama. For me, Homeland is a clear winner, just like it was eight years ago!
