So what he actually wants is a yes man who knows how to dress up their acquiescence so it's not quite as obvious. And here's Sage, in the end she just tells him mostly what he wants to hear, but throws in enough light jabs to successfully create the veneer that she's giving him the "hard truth" when in reality it's just more bullshit. I just realized that Homelander said "like Caeser," and Sage didn't correct him. Caeser famously was stabbed in the back before he could completely take over. Augustus was the emperor who swooped in, declared himself emperor after defeating Cleopatra and subsuming Egypt into the Roman Empire. This may be a reference to that. Baring the comics, this line suggests Sage is probably going to act like Cleopatra in this narrative: smarter than every man in the room and able to win over the masses, but may eventually fall. Homelander will likely be Caeser, the man who tries to make himself into an emperor but dies before that can happen.

Augustus had tact. A beautiful trait which enabled the senate to do what it would never have done: made him emperor. Rome for a long while was a republic because in the past they endured bad kings. Hence why Julius Caesar was killed. Caesar wanted to be king. Consuls were elected to rule for 1 year.
@Light-204 ай бұрын
Homelander also talks about leaving a legacy to his son. Augustus (Or Octavian at the time) was the legal son and heir of Caesar. Caesar set the foundation for Augustus' Principate. The fact Sage is living as middle class not as Tony Stark is the greatest bid of commentary I’ve ever seen. Which is that having knowledge and applying knowledge are two very different things. Sage is intelligent but has no marketable skills. She has intelligence but is unable to apply it to anything. Science, technology, chemistry, mechanics, physics, all things that she could have been famous for, but she isn’t even able to apply her brain to it. So she has nothing. No job because she can’t get one, no house because she can’t afford one, no friends because nobody likes a know it all, all she has is her mouth and mind. But if either were lost, she’ll be nothing. And she knows it. Also I love how Homelander shows that he is smart by getting her to join him with just a few sentences. Homelander may see humans as lesser but he understands their nature and how to use it to his advantage.

@Lyle_LosPollosHermanos5 ай бұрын
@@bobertbobthethirdshe took the cure and showed it to the doctor and they laughed and ignored her. Obviously there’s no point to show a new treatment method to a doctor. What a doctor was supposed to do just start the treatment right over there. After that she need bunch of test subjects, heavy expensive equipments and minimum 10-15 years of clinical trial data to actually turn it into a full working treatment for a disease. She may be fully intelligent but she lacks wisdom and social skills.

This shows just how Desperate Homie is in a Middle Aged Crisis that even he doesn’t know what to do so he needs someone who has Answers and can Strategize to benefit his Goals.

And proceeds to do whatever the hell he desires anyway and things only worked out because she held info from him so he doesn't ruin it XD

Ironically homelander probably has the most real saves. He's so strong that he doesn't need a situation to be staged. He can just walk right in and stop any threat

He’s competent enough to execute Complex Saves. Like the Bank Heist and the first half of the Plane ‘Save’ was going pretty good. Diabolicals Factory ‘Save’ was going pretty well and still could’ve being salvaged if those Idiots kept the f quiet. He did get a Great Quick Job in Syria and has shown Extraordinary skill with his Lasers. He can also Box and keep up with Seasoned Veterans when they were close to his Level. Even the failed saves showed him being quite Competent. It’s mostly other people’s fuckups that ruin everything. I think Sometimes people just forget that Vought, A Multi-Billion Dollar Conglomerate, Raised Homelander to be a Very Efficient Machine. A manchild sure, but skilled nonetheless. He’s smart too.

She might have a chance to break Homelander from the inside and then Butcher will do the rest. But that is if she doesnt get drunk on the power she is enjoying or if she doesnt get killed by Homelander or Butcher himself.
