you know I like this scene but it ultimately means nothing. In the next episode she defies him again and openly films the destruction after Herogasm and the debauchery of the event as well as the casual destruction wrought by these 'heroes'. This might have been interesting as Starlight works to get out from under Homelander's thumb but the showrunners are like utterly opposed to showing her suffering any adversity in this season. They even make her objectively correct with the reveal of the physical side effects of Compound V. Hughie basically might as well be a supporting recurring character after this season's conclusion. Don't get me wrong, there is a lot to like about season 3 (admittingly most of it is Starr and Ackles work) but Starlight needs to be taken down a peg or two.
