So they lack empathy for others . I’m going to attempt to answer your question. America is and will be a superpower nation for a long time. However in this country currently we are having crises. With the open borders so many illegal immigrants come in each day creating a huge problem across the country. In addition, it’s not the goal for politicians (mostly Democrat leaders) to solve homeless/poverty issues. They say they are fighting for the underprivileged, but they are doing the exact opposite. Why? Because there are tons of money to be made through federal and state fundings. They then launder the money to their families and friends through bogus programs pretending to help the poor. US have given Ukraine over 10 billion USD in weapons and cash aid. that money could have been used to help its own people.

I rarely help people that look like addicts anymore. One guy I helped daily for awhile until he said what’s up jackpot like he hit the lottery. I work hard for my money usually and really do not have much sympathy for the many homeless that choose to be so they can keep doing drugs. A whole lot of interviews of junkies saying the spend 100-400 dollars EVERY day on drugs so they are bringing in far more money then your average person from begging and crime but always expect more to file their habits. Again I help people sometimes but only with food usually and have helped people with gas the few times I’ve been asked but the majority not anymore.

That's because empathy and companionship is at the heart of human nature. It's how early societies were able to form and survive. We give to and care for each other. Modern society has turned all of that on its head and has made it almost impossible to help anyone but oneself. The rich elite tells us our nature is violent and selfish to make us fear each other but it's all divide and conquer. It wouldn't surprise me one bit to find out this is the root cause of our increased rates of depression and despair. We're being denied our basic nature of community, all for the benefit of a rich few. We don't need them. They need us.

I totally understand your feelings as well as your perspective on this topic and I agree with you to some degree, however, being from Modesto, California, I used to work at a gas station and there are so many drug attics aggressively pan handling for drug money that people are just tired of being approached everytime they step out of their car. I have personally helped a lot of homeless people with money and food, but the aggressive ones who approach everyone they see are ruining it for the less fortunate ones who could really use a helping hand. Now I pick and choose who I want to help based on their demeanor! And the empty gas can scam is nothing new! I've witnessed this so many times where people would give money and the person with the gas can would pocket the money and continue to approach every one at the gas station! That's what's sickening to me! People are just tired of it!!!

I'm from Connecticut and I found a lot of Californians extremely rude and disrespectful and their attitudes are absolutely disgusting. The guys weren't asking for a hand out just for gas. And sure they weren't actually homeless it was an experiment but still the amount of nasty rude people is just crazy. Truth be told I don't drive I get too nervous, but if I did drive and someone needed some gas, you damn straight I'd help someone out. Unlike a lot of the people in this video, I'm not too good that I can't help someone out. I'll give 5 bucks here or there if I had to. These people were basically showed their true colors and said I'm too good to give you any help for gas. Well what does around comes out. People seem to forget that. That all being said, the people who DID help out or said yes, my gosh I nearly started tearing up. That was a beautiful thing to watch. Those people deserve to go straight to heaven when they pass one day. Everyone else? Hell for them. I understand times are hard for a few dollars for gas isn't going to kill you especially if you wear nice clothes and drive a nice car.

These videos are always so inspiring! I live in the small town of waynesville, nc and we always have homeless and less fortunate and i try to help when i can. I had a chick ask me for gas the other day and didn't hesitate to give what i could. It doesn't hurt anyone to be a genuinely good person.
