Most homeless people have some sort of ''family'' but being homeless is more than 50 percent of the world. I think we've all been there at some point. Family isn't Family if one strays to the streets. Most of the time Friends are more Family than Family. God Bless You.

True story: One time, when I was just starting out in life, I was going all over the city for job interviews, getting applications, etc. I was having a very hard time finding anyone to hire me, and one afternoon I was walking back home after yet another rejection. It was hot, I was tired, I was frustrated, I was hurt that no one would hire me, and I was lost. (I was new to the city, did not know my way around.) Along the way, someone behind me asked me for money. I'm not proud of this moment, but because I was so tired, hot, and feeling so rejected, I wheeled around and yelled, "I have no money! I can't even get anyone to hire me in this city!" and started crying...feeling sorry for myself. The man stood there in shock, apologized, and then....tried to give ME money. I will never forget that someone who had even less than me, tried to help me. It was a life lesson.

I remember a little while ago, I was walking through the local town center and there was a homeless man busking. He looked tired and rough and had a scruffy little dog. He was very talented, and it made me sad seeing people just walk past him. I gave him as much as I had in my purse, which was only a few quid, but he looked so grateful and thanked me graciously and said I was a good person. Now, most people look down on a teenager like myself, who wears black and is considered to be the rebellious little child who knows nothing. I've seen some high-class people with dogs in bags that glare at me as I walk past him. But this man, someone who literally only had a back-pack and guitar, called me a good person and gave me a genuine smile. It wouldn't seem like much, but to me that meant a lot, because it showed that you can find genuine people in the most unexpected places.

It takes some experience to realize that life isn't always what society raises us to believe it is. We're heavily influenced to perceive people differently, though it may not be very obvious at the time... I don't know if you're a fan of Dave Chapelle, but during 1 of his stand-up comedy shows, he talks about the shows he used to watch as a kid and how, at the time, he used to love them, but then as an adult, realized how they teach kids how to judge people. He used the grouch from Sesame Street as an example. The Grouch lives in a trash can and all of the other muppets on the show call him mean and basically treat him like shit. Why? Because he's homeless and dirty? It may not be intentional, but the grouch becomes a representation of what a homeless person is perceived as by the show: mean, dirty, grumpy, lazy...kids see these things and subconsciously adopt it into their minds...
@LlamaDrama1429 жыл бұрын
I had an experience with a homeless person as a kid...but this story is a bit darker than yours. I was about 9 years old and I remember stopping by at a Popeyes with my mom. We ordered some food and sat down at a table to eat. A few minutes later, a homeless man walks in. I hadn't actually noticed him until he walked up to our table and directly asked me if I could spare some of my food. I was a shy kid, and my mother's English wasn't the best, so I didn't reply. I didn't get a chance to. People that were sitting around us started yelling at him to "leave the kid alone". They made him leave and I didn't say anything. I didn't think much of it, and continued eating, but then I looked out the window a couple of minutes later. It was the homeless man...digging through a trash can for food. I felt my heart sink. I didn't know if I wanted to cry, pull my hair out, or punch myself for being too fucking scared to just say yes and give him something...
@jazz-54369 жыл бұрын
We're told to think bad of them, and that's why people can treat them so bad

+potatosforpresident you should never ever ever worry about what other people think of you..........If they are judging then they don't even deserve a look back. I don't care if its a man in a suit driving a ferrari or a supermodel. they are no better than a homeless person. Keep on believing in the last couple of sentences you wrote..........In this life that is all that matters

@michaelalspach87418 жыл бұрын
actually it goes well beyond even all that was mentioned, its about spirit. there are 2 types of Homeless, you have one that is called a "Bum" and another remembered as a "Hobo". the person your seeing here is actually a hobo. Every single hobo that exists will tell you that there IS a god, every single last one of them, if they say otherwise they are just a bum, and no good will come from them. Bums generally lack in wisdom, many even claim to believe in god while scooping up the cash, like a minister.. the hobo wants enough to survive and little more, the bum wants everything. Look at Diogenes the Cynic closely, what his father did, what he did, how he influenced every last one of us, knowingly or otherwise, most of us represent him symbolically at least once a day. You have probably done so yourself by raising a middle finger, or blaming the dog for farting, calling oneself a "citizen of the world" or in so so so many other ways, really incredible man. Hobos been around forever, same with bums, our biggest and most dangerous bums inhabit Capitol Hill.

Help others:A young man is walking along the ocean and sees a beach on which thousands and thousands of starfish have washed ashore. Further along he sees an old man, walking slowly and stooping often, picking up one starfish after another and tossing each one gently into the ocean. “Why are you throwing starfish into the ocean?,” he asks. “Because the sun is up and the tide is going out and if I don’t throw them further in they will die.” “But, old man, don’t you realize there are miles and miles of beach and starfish all along it! You can’t possibly save them all, you can’t even save one-tenth of them. In fact, even if you work all day, your efforts won’t make any difference at all.” The old man listened calmly and then bent down to pick up another starfish and threw it into the sea. “It made a difference to that one.”

He's the richest cause he is selfless, and caring for others more then himself, ....and would be the first person to give away all his possessions he owned , and follow Christ.... remember the story of the young Prince meeting Jesus...he claimed he had always done the right and followed he's commands but when Jesus said sell everything you have and follow me ,,he wouldn't do it for his materialistic world meant more to him then anything...and therefore he walked away in shame cause he realized how corrupt he had become...** remember to build your treasures in heaven and not on this world, for you can't take anything of this world with you when you die....God bless and learn why your heart loves seeing this humble kindness....very beautiful ,God bless

black king its crazy to think that most people would just pass this guy by. Some people will make disparaging remarks. Some will give him abuse for being homeless. Its such a massive shame because those people are the ones that are missing out on a guy with a beautiful heart. Its a lesson for everybody - do not pre-judge ANYONE on appearance. If people could abide by that simple rule there would be no descrimination, racism, sexism, homophobia, etc. Thought i should say this to the King! Hope youre good man :)

I thank you for always coming through when I am low to show me there's still hope for humanity. As individuals most want to do good i seems but get caught up in their own little worlds and forget that not everyone is existing withing that same set of walls. In the last few years I lost all my family but my own children. I am now sitting in the home my Grandpa built for my Grandma as a wedding present mourning the loss of my Mom last month. I have dealt with addicts infesting the property and stealing from it on their way out along with breaking things and just making it harder for me. Bills over my head in settling what was not managed correctly and getting the family name clear will take me some time living right and working for that goal. Time will heal all wounds they say yet some seem so very deep. I pray all are well and that the tomorrow you are working on will enrich not only your own life but that of another or many as well.
