Having been homeless myself, the nicest thing you can do for them is acknowledge that they're there, and talk to them like a regular person, with kindness. Giving them gifts is nice too, but it's also very humbling for them because they can't give anything back except for thanking you in the most genuine way they can at that given time. It's an emotionally, mentally, and physically draining experience. Imagine never getting adequate sleep.

I wish more people would help out those in need. When me and my family passed a homeless man, I stopped and asked my dad for an early allowance. He asked and I said I saw something I wanted to spend it on and said I'll be back in a sec. I have the guy my 20 dollars and left after he thanked me (which he didn't have to). Although I could've bought something, it felt more satisfying to help someone else.

Coming from a person who lived homeless for 3 years, we are going to cry. I cant count my tears. Once riding a bus (a charity bought my ticket to get me home) from Madisonville Kentucky to Decatur Illinois a woman bought me dinner at a stop through mcdonalds because I hadn't ate in two days. I never knew her name, but God knows her name. It was a 10 hour bus ride for me, and I just remember feeling so weak. And how grateful I was to see that the world is not all bad. Ever since my time being homeless, I developed a new perception of money itself. And just like they say im sure you've heard it a thousand times, it comes and it goes. I saw a homeless couple on the streets once and gave them fifty dollars brought them a pizza for two and some drinks then i saw them about three months later and they were were living in a small house and they were so sweet to me and said that I motivated them to get a job and they used the money to look smart in interviews. now they have kids and a bigger home I am so happy I could help
