Your voice can help end homelessness. If we do not fix the affordable housing crisis, homelessness will continue to get worse. Click here invisiblepeople.tv/getinvolved to tweet, email, call, or Facebook your federal and state legislators to tell them ending homelessness and creating more affordable housing is a priority to you.

Homelessness is so stigmatized by much of society but what a lot of us don’t realize is that many are just a few bad breaks away from losing it all. This guy doesn’t seem dangerous or lazy, he’s clearly willing to work. I feel like a lot of homeless just need the opportunity to prove themselves.

I was also discharged from hospital with severe life-changing injury - with an external fixator no less - unable to use my right leg or left hand, after being disabled by a drunk driver. With no pain meds and no home. I couldn't walk, I couldn't do anything. What they do to us is horrific.

Homelessness without drugs is indeed difficult.I did it, though. It was not easy and there were many days that I contemplated death or prostitution to survive. People asked me many times, “How are you not on drugs? How are you not insane on the streets? How do you survive?” I always just shrugged and said “I survive.” And I did…and now I”m housed with gratitude to the homestead owner, my new friend and housemate, who made a leas with me sight unseen, took so may risks brining me to live with her. We show appreciation to each other often, her for giving me stability back and me for helping her rehabilitate the homestead. I am so thankful for the change in my life. I pray that all homeless people can get such stability and I will do whatever I can to help people until there are no more on the streets. My new businesses will give 10% profit into services for the homeless, whether it’s a knitted hat or a deposit on an apartment. I hope my businesses succeed because if I succeed, others will too. I will pray for this man and for all homeless. I have been there…it’s not easy and it’s not a choice. 🤗

@Natty for life I live in California and I see exactly what your talking about happening all the time. This Democrat controlled state is going to give illegal immigrants free Healthcare and prescriptions when my elderly parents have to pay for their Healthcare and prescriptions after living and working here their entire lives. They both get social security and SSI but have to rely on me for housing in order to afford their medical treatment and medicines or else they would be out in the streets. Illegals also receive free in state tuition for college but a native born American citizen has to pay out of pocket. How is this in any way fair? Blows my mind.

In one way or the other we are fighting to stay alive. Many are one paycheck away from being homeless or checking into a psychiatric ward. I quit alcohol 7 years ago because I just didn't want to numb my senses anymore. I decided to deal with life with probably undiagnosed ADHD or something, maybe, OCD. I don't know. Life is hard. I am an expatriate living in Germany for 21 years and you are never free from tax obligations. I don't ever owe, but the threats and fines for not filing are insane. USA is the only country that requires citizens to file taxes. USA is not a free country. And most expatriates are unaware of their tax obligations. It's totally crazy. And the way homeless are treated is absolutely not okay. Germany also has homeless people living under bridges.
