Homemade Bale Shredder put to work with the S185 Bobcat Skid-Steer.

How does it work with bales that have frozen outsides or were straw was baled a little tough

It works great. We have even put fine bean stalk bales through it.

Building your own skid steer attachment takes a lot of skill and/or willingmess to build and rebuild. When you get it right it rewards you with less production and more results! A steel chain cover would help keeping hay from getting wrapped in the chain.

I will say my husband is extremely talented when it comes to building projects like these. We haven't had any troubles with hay getting stuck in the chain (yet). Our main complaint now is how to keep the hay from falling on to the cab. We had a hay guard on the back but the bales kept getting caught on it so we took it off. Not a huge deal and we will have to figure it out. Thank you for the input!
