That's awesome. Congrats on the success. I dehydrated raw eggs recently for the first time. It worked. My earlier success along with your video here is inspiring me to explore dehydrating foods to a greater degree. I need to get some trays however that fit our dehydrator that are for liquids.

I don't use the silicone sheets that come with the dehydrator. I find it much better to use parchment paper. First I put down a ring of rope to act as a bit of a damn. Then I put the parchment paper over top and pour the liquid onto the tray.

@@EconoChallenge Yeah I had thought about doing something similar but using wood dowels. Rope seems like a good idea as well. Thanks.

I've dehydrated alot of things, but i've never tried dehydrating a meal like a stew or chili. It's something i'm going to try for sure!

I have learned you can not be in a hurry when it comes to rehydrating your meal. It takes time.

My old one had round trays and blew air up the middle of the stack. I like the square tray systems with the fan at the back much better. I still have to rotate trays to get an even result. My new one seems to work faster. I can control the temperature better also. Some things to think about when you decide to buy.

I plan my trips around the weather. It works better than planning around a pre-selected time frame when you have no idea what the weather will be like. I've been thinking about getting a Dehydrator. I'm just sick of going down rabbit holes. I just went down the SOLAR rabbit hole. LOL. Almost got sucked into the Fly Fishing vortex,,,, and now a dehydrator? What's that gonna cost with all the other little crap no one ever thinks about that you'll need once you buy the damn thing??? Maybe you should do a video series on the subject of making your own dehydrated food for dummies or something. Going down the dehydrated meals rabbit hole. Something to that effect.

Well I like the idea of a new series. Thank you for that. I will tell you that a Dehydrator means you need as way to store what you have dried. That lead to an expensive vacuum sealer. Then you have to buy supplies for that sealer and that is not cheap. I have purchased two books on how to prepare various food items for optimal drying. Finally you will need a place to store all your creations. Yup it adds up quickly after you lay out the dough for the Dehydrator.

I have an older dehydrator 5 tray, big airflow holes in trays., one temperature. I have been curious/scared about using it to make meals for backpacking. I wasn't sure it it would work or not. Wanted a freeze drier still kinda do, but WOW the price. Thanks Jeep for this video. Now that I have seen and heard some of hints. Now I want to try it out with my dehydrator and see it will work.

The simmering secret will be revealed in a video later in the year. We are still working out the fine details. But that moment you saw in the video was a significant breakthrough.
