Hi everyone, just to let you know we tracked down the reason for that exceeding bitterness and it is because we boiled the spices for 20 minutes. If you stick to the original recipe with alcohol, there is no problem. For the alcohol-free option, you add the spices after the 20 minute boil. The full recipe is in the description!
