the actual FOAMING comes from the mechanism itself, you'll see in this bottle & in other hand-soap foaming bottles that the pump top has an extra component that the other bottles do not, that's the piece that causes the FOAMING. ---the alcohol helps with streaking but is not needed, however, it might also help as a disinfectant on surfaces & in your hand soap.

Here's another helpful tip: to pretty much eliminate the chances of things foaming up, put the water and the alcohol in the bottle first and then add the soap! After you have finished pouring in all your ingredients and put on the cap, then you'll need to give it a bit of a shake to mix things up.

I do still keep real Powerwash in my kit and use it in lieu of a heavy duty degreaser or oven cleaner but this homemade stuff I use on everything. this mixture is great to kill bugs, several years ago i had those stink bugs in my home, hearing that your not supposed to squash them because they emit a scent to draw more stink bugs i decided to make this mixture in my one spray bottle, i'd spray it on the bug, it foams up and smothers them. then scoop them up and out in the trash. it also works on other creepy crawlys too. i keep a bottle handy just for this, no toxic bug sprays.

Thanks! This is a huge money saver! FYI - stop buying the dishwasher rinsing solutions. Use white vinegar in your dishwasher’s rinse cycle compartment. Works like a charm. Also, that expensive toilet spray you’re paying $6 for is 3/4 water. Make your own by mixing 20-40 drops of essential oils with a small squirt of alcohol. Fill it up with water leaving room to shake it before spraying it on your toilet water. I call mine Shake & Spray. On average, a 1 ounce bottle of EO have 600 drops. A 1 ounce bottle of peppermint EO is about $7.50. You’ll have enough for at least 20 bottles. Your cost - less than $.50!

As the original inventor having publish the formula many times for years online it is hydrogen peroxide being the ingredient. No reason to add alcohol unless you are really going after some very greasy stuff which should be well wiped first. Dilute the hydrogen peroxide, 3% common grade, with half water. If you want a fine six legged insect killer , not spiders, or more virulent mix, use the 3% hydrogen peroxide full strength. This will quickly end any six legged insect. I use for wasp like hornets. Nice thing about this mix is it is not toxic to humans.

Yes but there’s no need for the alcohol for hand soap. Just fill your empty foaming soap container about 1/4 full of dish soap and fill the rest with water. Put cap on and shake.

Believe it or not I cleaned my garage floor that had caked oil on it I poured it on the floor, left it sit for 5 minutes and used a broom to clean it. I didn't have to scrub either. And I don't have grease stains. 😮

My mixture of: 10 oz of Water, 4 oz Dawn and 2 oz of alcohol works well for me. Add the alcohol to water, then Dawn to alcohol/water mixture. Mix every so softly to reduce foaming. Ready to use as refill.
@pggysu
@pggysu Жыл бұрын
Your only mistake is you should stir the alcohol and dawn together. The soap instantly loses its viscosity and pours like water. Ive been making my own foaming hand soap for well over a decade using cheap regular hand soap. Ive saved so much money doing this. Well done, you!

Maybe because the original uses denatured alcohol instead of isopropyl alcohol like the refill does.

the actual FOAMING comes from the mechanism itself, you'll see in this bottle & in other hand-soap foaming bottles that the pump top has an extra component that the other bottles do not, that's the piece that causes the FOAMING. ---the alcohol helps with streaking but is not needed, however, it might also help as a disinfectant on surfaces & in your hand soap.

Multiply that by ALL the products that are being marketed just like this. Big companies are price gouging. I saw Tide for $29.00 in walmart. It claimed 6 mos. of laundry (10 loads/ month). What a waste of money.I do more like 20 loads a month. I have stopped buying dryer sheets, put up my clothesline and cut usage for other products. Where there is a will, there is a way. Oh, BTW, I can afford these things, but it infuriates me and insults my intelligence that the public is being cheated every time they go to the store. Also, mix your own products is another way to save.

You can make your own laundry soap if you haven’t already and it cleans just as good as the bad expensive stuff from the store. Borax, washing soda, baking soda, oxiclean, zote or other laundry bar or like me I make my own coconut oil soap and shred that. Mix altogether and you have laundry soap for about a year if you do normal washing. Recipes all over KZbin and you only use like 1 or 2 tablespoons per load. You can even make a liquid soap too. Save save save where you can.

@@Mygraciously Alcohol is somewhat corrosive and will strip paints and also some plastic. Its best left for hard surfaces. To clean my wall I would replace with either hydrogen peroxide or vinegar. My formula is basically: 1 gallon water, 2 cups of alcohol and 1 tbsp of Dawn. I make adjustments to it if I’m into heavy cleaning. You can sub 2c peroxide or vinegar, your choice.
