I have started to transition my Havanese to home cooked meals. She's been on it for 4 days. The first thing I noticed is her scratching at night got less and last night she did not scratch at all. Makes me happy. Going to start her with this breakfast but she is an absolute chick girl. Started hiding small amounts of veggies in the meal too. I did start to give her a supplement because the meals are not complete and balanced yet. Will probably give a few weeks until I get it right. The sardines are going to be interesting.

I also have a Havanese that I switched to home cooked. It’s the only thing she’ll eat. She used to be such a fuzzy eater. Now she is even asking for more. I can also recommend duck and turkey meat.

Try some chamomile tea with a little bit of honey, also feeding a good high protein meat.Raw goat’s milk, sweet potatoes, eggs, blueberries and of course real food balanced diet.

Great videos Thankyou for sharing your inspirational advice, I'm considering changing my dogs diet, I'm a bit yukky about raw but I'm psyching myself up for change. My 6 year old sheltie, Rosie has been diagnosed with Hypothyroidism and anaemia today, poor little pup. Where do you get sardines in water from ? I can only find then in olive oil or tomato sauce. Hi Cam. Thank you for your videos. I have a couple of questions .Can you please advised where you were actually certified please (Diploma Canine Nutigenomics) and to which institution that belongs?I cannot see anything on your website nor seen any footage where you state this on here. Also I have just purchased your your nutrional multi vitamins (just arrived thank-you.) However the ingredient analytics on this package only add up to 58%. I have noted on one of you dog food reviews (Butchers non grain dog food who cite a similar content) that you were critical of this and said this was somewhat suspicious, so I am wondering what to think of your program? According to the chart in the guide my chihuahua weighs 11 pds I found that she is at 3%. Because she's chunky I subtracted the .5 percent and it gave me roughly 4.8 oz a day If i'm reading it right. But I wanted to feed her the breakfast. So I went to the chart and it says ingredients. Two ounces all the way up to a pound. So how do I base how much i should put in the recipe for her. According to the chart, do I figure that out by taking the 4.8oz she eats a day and use the 4%? I just want to be sure how to decide how may ozs i should put in the meal to equal a serving of 4.8. I just want to be sure I don't overfeed her.

My dogs turn their noses up at meat, and if I add fruit or vegetables, they will go lie down, without eating any of it. My only dog who eats what I put down for him is my German Shepherd (he will leave plant foods). Raw egg whites cause avidin, fyi. My other 4 dogs are definitely food critics, lol (2 pitbulls, 2 other terrier mixes). They are all rescues, and picky asf. I fed my dogs raw, some cooked, for 4 years, until they just refused to eat it, and I was tired of the constant struggle. Went back to kibble for 2 years, and now back to raw and cooked. They won't eat lamb, rabbit, turkey, or duck AT ALL. They'll eat pork (cooked, although one pitbull won't touch it), beef (ground beef cooked rare), organic chicken (cooked). The only beef they'll eat is ground, not London broil, brisket, or even prime ribeye. It's like I'm preparing meals for a house full of REALLY picky kids, grrrr. I've gone so far as to skip a day of feeding to get them good and hungry, and they aren't that interested when I do give them their next meal, the following day. If I over do sardines, oysters, fish, etc, they won't eat. I add bone broth, toppers, etc, and nothing helps. They'll eat around things, but most of the time if I put something in their bowl they don't like, they'll just walk away, and not eat. No one is under weight, and they've all put on pounds once I began this non kibble diet 3-4 months ago (I weigh all their food, and give according to guidelines, energy output, etc). I research and study this ad nauseum, and have zero clue why they won't eat, or the weight gain. I took one of my dogs to the vet for blood work bc she packed on weight, yet barely eats. They can't figure out what's wrong with her. I have her on special cooked diet for gut health. It's all so odd. I do dog probiotics, spirulina, chlorella, ultra oil for coats, kefir (now, only 2 will eat it). Only 2 will eat bones, daily, and I organs are a struggle, too. I can't even be intentional with their diet, and just get into them what I can so I don't have to give up, and go back to gross kibble. I've watched every video, read every book, and I'm at a loss. Bacon on top doesn't even work. Like WHO doesn't love bacon??!!!?

For your peace of mind, sardines are one of the best fishes you and your dogs can eat due they are small fishes and they retain really low levels of metals. With a little research on the internet you would check it by yourself. My dad and mom are human doctors and they always support sardines as one of the best fishes you can eat.

The edible seeds are the only part of the pomegranate that's safe for dogs. The pith (white part), skin, and membrane of the pomegranate should be avoided as they can cause digestive issues.

You just substitute the chicken with another meat and add a calcium supplement if you don't use other suggested bones or ingredients, as Cam states in several of his recipes. There is a complete beef recipe if you go through recipes. I use lean Pork or lamb instead of chicken.

​@@AngelSharp-ct7hc actually egg dies not provide what a dog needs for calcium. Dogs need a very specific calcium phospherous ratio. This guys recipes are a mess. Banana? Dogs cannot digest fructose bananas are super high sugar as well.

@@tigertalks1567 I am aware of that, which is why it's necessary to supplement with bones suitable for your dog or a bone meal supplement. But all this is mentioned here on Cam's site, nothing is missed. Dogs can eat banana, it is very digestible and full of nutrients. I don't know what country you are in but the science is there, it is a functional food and supported by vets. Banana in it's green stage is best but as you saw you don't give a whole banana. Functional foods are excellent for our species as well as canines. Advice here is good from a qualified Canine Nutritionist with the most recent knowledge available to us.

I do because that's all I can get where I live, but I wipe off oil with kitchen paper, the run them under cold water tap for a while to wash off salts too that are added in a low dose.
