My favorite holiday drink is eggnog spiked with ginger ale. Very much as you prepared your spritzer with the apple cider ( which I can't waIt to try). I've only had it with store bought eggnog though. I can't wait to try it with this.

Thank you so much for this recipe Jen! I've only had store-bought eggnog and hated it. I literally just whipped up a half batch of this to try, and it's still cooling, but the taste test while it was still warm was amazing! Using cinnamon instead of nutmeg is a great idea for non-nutmeg-lovers like myself.
@WithWonder10 жыл бұрын
JamiesGirl1990 That's why we like to offer nutmeg to taste after it's made :)

if you mix the cinnamon with a little of the milk to make a paste and then add to the rest of the liquid it will combine more easily.
@thejulylioness438310 жыл бұрын
Looks delicious! I love non-alcoholic eggnog. Have you ever used your eggnog to make French toast? It's fantastic, and ridiculously easy since all you need to do is pour some over a few slices of bread, let it soak in, and fry it up. You don't even need to put syrup on it!

How long does this keep in the fridge? If I made it say 2 or 3 days before will it still be good?
@daniellelimia459910 жыл бұрын
If you pour the box liquids the other way around, with the opening at the top, it is supposed to pour much more smoothly - supposedly due to the airflow inside.

I use half and half and heavy whipping cream instead of half and half and whole milk. I add Tennessee whiskey and spiced rum. I use maple syrup instead of granulated sugar.
@sadiejosiemom10 жыл бұрын
I've never made eggnog and not a huge fan of it. I would've thought there were more ingredients - so simple!! I wonder if you mix the cinnamon with the sugar and then mix that in with the beaten eggs if it would make the cinnamon mix in easier? Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

@myview685210 жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing this recipe. To mix in the cinnamon easier, try warming up some of the milk separately and mixing in the cinnamon there, and then adding the mixture to the rest of the ingredients. Hope this makes it easier.

Hi Jen, I live in Scotland and we don't "do" eggnog so I always wondered what it was. Thank you for letting me know, I might try my hand at making it. Just one question, what is half and half? We don't have that here - is it a cream? Merry Christmas to you and Don and all the best for New Year x
@cait404810 жыл бұрын
I think half and half is half milk and half cream... it's mostly used in coffee here. My dad's side is Scottish (Chisholm and Stewart), but he's the eggnog-maker in our family... he must get it from his mom ;) I do make shortbread every year for Christmas though, so my Grandpa did pass something down. Merry Christmas!
@JamiesGirl199010 жыл бұрын
Half and Half is equal parts whole milk to cream
@shottspar10 жыл бұрын

What is half and half? Is it like semi skimmed milk?
@TessieDobey10 жыл бұрын
half milk and half cream
@LisainCalifornia10 жыл бұрын
it is half cream, half milk. Sort of like light cream. You can get it at any grocery store in the U.S., and many people use it to cream their coffee.

Oh okay. We don't get it in the UK. Thanks for answering :)
