Very impressive project. The slip rings looked very worn, and are readily replaceable. Maybe the batteries could go down on the frame where the motor is, and the motor up where the batteries are, for a lower center of gravity.

my Razor I got from a thrift store for $5 goes faster than that on 3s 50C LIPO. it only has 150W 6812 brushed motor. ( $20..if you shop around) The trick is ..I install a 3s 60A brush r/c car esc with Fan. ESC ( $10).Plug the throttle into the wires that suppose to go to the RX. It's the ESC programming..it's releasing at 60A..verse 30A or LESS plus the LIPO are LITE...50C ( discharge). I can double up on the mah to 10000 mah..and it'll still be liter and smaller than a 12V 7ah acid seal pack. The only thing that's holding me back at the moment is the ESC. 4S ( 16V) is the highest I can go. The motor can handle 24V...The 12V is doing around 8-10mph.. it's plenty fast for my kids. The stock pinon is only 9T..you can get 11T pinon...(#25 chain) You'll need it to tame it when you bump it up to 24V...it might do 20mph...which is pretty damn fast on a scooter...with shocks..( mine has front air filled tires)..it's rough on your hand ..if you ride it in the streets more...i need to install real air wheels/tires and REAR Disc breaks....if you go faster than 10 mph.lmao ( front flip.lmao) I hook it up 24V direct..it's crazy fast. I need throtle control... I could install a brushless system..You just need to do a little research or be more familar with R/C..ESC settings. Most ESC are programmed on LOW setting from the factory. DIY brushless dosnt have the TORQUE...You need to do a little research on burshless more...KV ( constant KV p/rotation. Rule of thumb...the lower the KV the higher the TORUE/lower RMP. So you can choose the proper KV and gearing You can get a go kart 1800w 48V brushless system for $130... It's the ESC..it might be program or can only do 80A... verse a 6-s 150A r/c brushless ESC you can also get a RED BRICK 200A r/c brushless ESC ( NO REVERSE) 7S lipo ( 32-36V) ($30)..It's still going to be liter and WAZOOO faster than his rig

@@oneeyemonster3262 i ran my 24v razor drift cart on 2 4s lipos in series for 8s, if u look on ebay u can get a better brushed esc for ebikes that will work fine but I used the stock one until it went out eventually lol now I'm running a boma 48v 1500watt watt brushless DC controller and a 1000watt 48v motor on 13s and some times 14s when its cool outside and it goes around 30mph. Feels super fast being that close to the ground and the wheel gets swirly if u don't hold it tight! Lol check it out if u like

I ran 6s at 50C on stock powerwheels...poor little 550 brushed motors.lmao i have 36v and 48V brushed motors from MX500..ect I have wazoo of different WHEELCHAIRS motors You can get a 1800 WATT brushed motor from OLD TREADMILLS..from the side of the road... It's time I build the grand kids electric gokarts...Keep it around 12-15 mph.. Yeap it's wicked ..i used to have 110 honda from a motorcycle in a go kart..You had to shift it just like a bike...but LOW to ground with no suspensions at 50 mph was CRAZY..it was fun doing hole shot type of driving becuase of the transmission

@@oneeyemonster3262 I've had several other motors just never had the right tools to mount them so they got scrapped but I have family that are scrappers so I always have access to free or dirt cheap motor if I ever get my hands on a welder. I don't mind brushed but prefer brushless since you get better efficiency and higher rpms depending on the motor. I cruise around all the time and most people love it haha not sure what the cops think yet tho lol

Great project. Perhaps those heavy lead-acid batteries should be placed lower, on the board, in front of the rear wheel, to lower its center of gravity and improve stability.

some people use up to 72 on their alternators and you can use both 12 and 24v alternators

I think the rotor might get too much voltage (the clamps that go to the brushes). Are you feeding it directly 24 volts? Adjusting this voltage should shift the behavior of the motor: less rotor voltage -> more speed but less torque. You would have to find the sweet spot.

for 24 volts in the stator, the rotor needs to get less than 12v

It is not a BLDC motor, it still has Brushes for the excitation of the rotor! It is an electric excited, 3 phase synchronous motor with claw poles!

Don't get this one. Think these are about 1kw. Cheap and cheerful but chinese nevertheless. For this motor get 150-200kw you'll be scared to open all the way

@@rolandoromero9494 igualmente me resulta interesante ya que tiene 2 baterias grandes de automóvil/carro con un amperaje interesante cada una. El alternador presumo que lo exita/magnetiza con 12 volt (tiene bajo consumo) y al alternador transformado ahora en motor entre 12 y 24 volt...he visto en un par de vídeos que remplazan la exitacion de 12 volt con imanes permanente y mediante una controladora alimentan al motor en un rango comprendido entre 48 y 72 volt. Éstos vehículos suelen desarrollar buena velocidad y con buen torque (fuerza) pero no logro determinar la autonomía. Luego quedaría el trabajo fino de reducir peso, relación piñón/corona y tipo de química en batería.

Hi there! I found it on banggood for around 20$ (you can find them even cheaper on aliexpress) Thats 24/36 V 250w sensorless BLDC motor controler. The thing is that it have to be "sensorless" (Works without hall sensor). If you have any questions feel free to ask :)

yeah, 2 BLDC motors could run a car, but need to be huge motors, at least 20kW each www.goldenmotor.com/ is a example of website that sells motors with this kind of power but i strongly recommend you to search forklift motors or even real EV motors (Warp9, Warp11, and others)

Is there another way to run the alternator without the electric speed controller because here in South Africa it's proving to be a big challenge to get the speed controller, so I just want to know if there could be another method to run the alternator after having modified it as it shows on the video? Sadly, without the controller, it won't work. You might want to try making your own, but that isn't the easiest.

12v alternator works best. you can use 48v BLDC controler on 12v alternator and get up to 1500W :)

Thats 12v Alternator (can handle 120A and you can find them on any car) also that box is BLDC controler ( this one is 24v 250w, you can use any sensorles controler from 24v to 48v) more power is better. I got controler and grip control on banggood
