I have the same problem with my arc captain flux core welder . I fixed this problem by getting a 50' 240 extension cord with a 110 plug adapter, n plug it into my dryer wall plug. Works great.

I have recently upgraded to a Lincoln 140 mig welder. But haven’t done anything with it yet.

@205_bowties mig is always nice . My wife last Bday got me a Tig 3 in 1 with plasma cutter welder off Amazon . So I'm attempting to teach myself how to tig . Shit ain't cheap but man that tig sure is nice.

@205_bowties these little machines have no problem pushing a 7018 × 8th inch rod in all positions. I've been a structural steel iron worker for 24 years. Welded with a vast variety of welders. And I can't lie . I'm super impressed with these little machines . The technology in these little boxes is absolutely amazing. To me anyways.

@205_bowties I saw you mention that you have young son . I taught both of my sons to weld stick by their 5th birthdays. You want to talk about a puffed out chest full of pride. That wover 20 years ago n I still get teary eyed when I brag about them boys burning rod at 5.

I stand corrected on the muffler comment. I Bluetoothed my phone to the home stereo and yeah it sounds tough. Got me headed out to work on mine now. Take care n thanks for the info n chat.

Looks good man. Only thing I would recommend is keeping the v-bands assembled when welding. Less risk of heat warping the two halves differently making them not line up or seal when you try to connect them. Otherwise great job! I'll be doing this soon myself.
