It's very nice, but even if this is just for fun, I would never trust that pressure vessel in the long run. You can't take chances with pressurized air. Even at modest pressures, failures can be catastrophic.

Very nice design. Only thing missing is a dewateringtap on the underside of the tank. Pressurized air will condensate in the tank and leave water behind. Not that this tank will rust, but it will function less and less and less because water is taking the place of pressurized air

That's a wonderful skill of PVC usage, as usual! Though I have 3 remarks: 1) it doesn't look like radiator ribs made of PVC actually help with cooling the thing; 2) switching tyre valve at 10+hz is not what is was designed for, expect reduced lifetime. And 3) have you heard of Titan submarine disaster? This DIY tank gives me the same vibes. You just don't know when its structural integrity is compromised and when it will explode. I really think a large cola bottle would be more reliable.

Very cool. I would recommend using PVC cement instead of CA glue for that pressure vessel (or just using an off-the-shelf one). CA glue will bond it together, but PVC cement is a solvent, and will physically weld the plastic together into one piece.

Just to let you know that all this kind of devices need a drain in the lower part of the tank. Compressed air is always achieved with a certain amount of water, and you must provide a way to get rid of it, now and then.

lovely little compressor and well executed, one reservation, the pressure vessel, plastic suffers from what is known as "creep stress", this is were the plastic deforms under use , returns to shape at rest, and like any materials there are only so many cycles available, only with plastic it does,nt always return to origin, meaning , you stretch i9t, stretch it a little more and so on until it no longer stretches and fails , just be aware that PVC has no real pressure capacity.

Como observación, sería interesante poner una válvula para vaciar la condensación en forma de agua, que se forma dentro del tanque, así como un filtro para evitar que esta condensación salga por la manguera. Hay que evitar a toda costa que el aire esté cargado de partículas de agua. Un 10 por el magnífico diseño y desarrollo del proyecto.

Remarkable! You are quite ingenious! Just a few observations, wouldn't the purge gate valve be better placed on bottom so any moisture in the tank could run out? And when glueing layers of PVC to build thickness, wouldn't it be stronger to add glue to the surfaces as well as edges to have a more complete bond? I love how you made your own shutoff switch, very clever! You have an unusual combination of electro-mechanical knowledge and very good fabrication skills!

Very cool but you forgot a water drain valve on the bottom of the tank to be able to drain condensate from the compression-expansion cycle. This normally substitutes for the manual pressure release valve you have on the top of the tank.

great work as always, if atleast the piston and bore with heat exchanger thins were metal or aluminium, so it can dissipate heat, with a teflon seal instead of rubber, that will be a real compressor. due to pvc as we know changing shape at very low temps and soaking it all in, transferring it to the rubber seal, for that size pump, its not efficent at all, I think the pvc and rubber is warping and too much air is escaping.

Really needs an Aluminium cylinder head, looks fabulous, beautifully detailed working model, but you can’t get convection cooling from Plastics, so although it looks authentic, the cooling vanes are just decorative, for short runs and with a good airflow across the cylinder head, probably not a problem, as to worries about pressure vessels integrity, I would say the wall thickness of the vessel being made from pvc Soil Vent pipe shouldn’t be a concern, it’s certainly a lot stronger than a cola bottle, the precision with which the end caps are designed and made is impressive, and incorporating a proper manufactured pressure relief valve, should make it safe, as although not shown in this clearly edited sequence, I’m sure the maker must have tested the pressure vessel to the maximum limit of the relief valve, in my humble opinion, this is probably better made than a lot of low end CE marked diy compressor sold by the big names. As a true working model, it ably demonstrates the principles of the machine, nice that he showed the unit working with the covers off, a brilliant educational tool for CDT or Technical college students, the innovative techniques employed are excellent in themselves in showing what can be accomplished with ingenuity and limited tools. Интересно, сколько без перерыва он может работать, ведь там трение и жестокие нагревы цилиндра, расплавиться же и заклинит. Даже модельный компрессор нагревается, рука не терпит, так там металл, а тут все из пластмассы) Но выглядит не реально круто, и самое классное, все своими руками!👍

@@felixyasnopolski8571, так это всё только для ролика делается. Разве ж из пластика такие вещи делают. Я вон пробовал печатать шестерню - нагрузку вообще не держит - только вхолостую крутить. А печать из металла это уже очень дорого... Думаю, он может себе позволить 3д принтер из пластика, даже сможет сделать его корпус из трубы, но, кстати, детали напечатанные недорогим пластиком в простецком варианте не держат давление. Они как губка. Да и поверхности слоистые для поршневой не лучший вариант.
