Have you ever used natural PB with this recipe and if so did you leave the amount of sweetener the same? I'm not a fan of excessively sweet granola so also curious about how sweet it is made as directed. It looks so yummy and crunchy.

Hello, here is my favorite and super easy Banana Granola Bar recipe 1) get 3/4 ripe bananas and mash them in a big bowl until it isn't lumpy. 2) 3 cups of your favorite granola ingredients 3) thoroughly mix mashed bananas and granola mixture (you can add some peanut butter chips or chocolate chips) and let sit for 20 minutes so the granola can absorb some moisture from the bananas 4) spray a cake pan with some cooking oil and add banana granola mixture to make bars. Put in preheated 350 degree oven for 14 minutes.

Oh Kaleb!!!! First...I love granola...and made my own several times. But I felt I had to eat it all fairly quick because I was afraid it would mold. And there was ALWAYS SO MUCH OF IT!!! LOL Your tip of putting in the freezer was genius! So thank you...and this recipe looks delicious.

This looks super yummy. I have one suggestion: try using the natural peanut butter rather than Skippy (maybe they have a natural one.) It really has a nuttier flavor and leaves out the hydrogenated oil that isn't good for us. Love your Channel. :-)

Is the oil necessary or can we leave it out?
@WyseGuide5 жыл бұрын
You could leave it out but the granola would be quite dry with an extra crumbly texture
@mariaolker5 жыл бұрын
@@WyseGuide I don't want that so I will keep it in. Thanks.

Ok thats a lot of ingredients...too expensive for us. Sad.

If you leave out the extras (banana chips, peanuts, etc.) you could make it more inexpensively, especially if you buy the ingredients in bulk. Since granola can be expensive, especially when already made, I've found I get more bang for my buck when I eat slower and really chew it (something I do with all food) because it fills me up faster and for longer, so I eat less. When eating granola I usually only eat about 1/2 a cup.

Just do the oats and peanut butter and maybe a bit of oil. Hope that helps. (p.s. Bananas really are a low expense item. You can dry them cut up in your oven on a baking sheet for much less money than already dried.)
