Are you a granola clusters lover or more of a muesli person?? I love both but given the choice - I'd reach for the crunchy clusters 😋

Oh my gosh, get out of here with that epic, hilarious cliff shot. Had to rewatch it I loved it so much 😂 Also, I never thought to combine oat types -- definitely going to try that!

Hahaha ya that’s a great spot so close to our place. When the clouds are lifted you can really see all the snow capped tops of the mountains and the ocean is down below too 👍🏼 and ya I prefer the combo of larger oats for the texture but the quick oats kind of disappear a bit and just act as more of a binder which I like (almost cookie like).

For recipes that use peanut butter have you tried to use the crunchy stuff? growing up we never had the whole "organic" craze.. (Yeah I'm an old fart. LOL!) One day Grandma was making peanut butter balls (close to your energy clusters) but we only had crunchy peanut butter (My personal fav.. yeah I'm weird.) from then on we used crunchy when ever possible.. Was an added little texture.

Haha I think the crunchy peanut butter is great 😂 you could definitely use that and like you said it would add a little bit more texture. It might be slightly harder to mix with the dry ingredients but I’m sure it would work just fine.

@@TastyThriftyTimely well when ever you make a substitution you always have to adjust things... remember "Salt/season to taste." LOL! I usually use a little more Peanut butter and a little less of other wet because sometimes you want more peanut butter flavour.

@@Lordmaniax357 yes I was actually thinking you might need a little more to get it to spread through the dry ingredients. You could add in some applesauce or whipped aquafaba to add some more moisture but more peanut butter is definitely not going to disappoint 😂

I love big clusters of granola! For those that want bars, you’re good, and for those that want it in cereal, you’re good

I made this but it didn’t stick together, not even clusters. I think next time I will toast the dry ingredients before adding the liquid and bake .? 😢

Oh I’m sorry to hear this. That’s strange. If you added the full amount of wet ingredients, packed the granola down firmly as it baked and let it cool completely before breaking it apart I’m surprised it didn’t cluster. Letting it cool entirely allows it to all to harden together and that way when it’s cool you can break it into clusters. Let me know if you think you may have not had it packed together as tightly or broken it apart too early. Otherwise you might just need to add a bit more of your peanut butter to help everything stick together more.

I used maple syrup and natural peanut butter? I guess because there is no extra oil or sugar in the peanut butter it didn’t have anything to hold it together. The oatmeal tasted pasty so I put it back to try to crisp it but still didn’t hold together. I used convection setting which I always use when making granola bars and crackers. The flavor is good and will have no trouble eating it! Thanks for the recipe.

@@debbieemes5580 hmm I use natural peanut butter as well so I don’t think that could be the trouble. I heat the peanut butter and maple syrup up a bit to help soften the nut butter and help it spread evenly over the granola. I don’t have a convection setting on my oven so I’m not sure if that could have affected how it baked but I’m glad you’ll be able to eat what you have made and I’m sorry I can’t be of more help!
