Homemade pet bridges and ladders - Ratdubly

Hello Dublys,
Welcome to Ratdubly. Today I'm going to be showing you how to build different types of homemade rat cage ladders and bridges for your pet rats out of lollipop sticks. As I am stuck indoors I have decided to start making structures for my rat cage out of popsicle sticks and other craft material. So stay home #withme and let's build together! Hot glue is fine for budgies when its dry, its just the hot fumes that are harmful to them

I love this, I have one worry tho which is thr extra glue on alot of stuff. My gliders will find that snd get it and eat it or whatever so gotta be careful with that. Maybe make sure that all glue is covered. This is a quick easy way of making some fun thing for our little ones. Thankyou for the video. I wasn't trying to criticize.

Hamsters eat glue and could eat the string i like the concept though I searched for ladders cuz mine would want one

I made similar ladders and bridges today, using hot glue too, and I was wondering if this glue can be toxic for my little buddies? I tried to look up on google but didn't find anything...

Great question! In general if a rat ingested a large amount of glue I can imagine it wouldn’t be good but the amount of glue used for ladders and things isn’t very much and what I’ve noticed over the years is that the rats are not interested in it, they like to gnaw on wood and things that will grind their teeth down so the glue isn’t of interest to them also rats are unable to vomit so are very cautious when it comes to eating new things so I wouldn’t worry that they would eat enough to cause any damage. As it is I have never had a rat of mine try to eat any.

@@Ratdubly it's been a week now since I installed the ladders, and they didn't try to eat them. You're right when you say they're not interested, to them it's like a part of their cage/home. Thanks for the reply, nice video btw!

You can use regular glue too don’t worry, I just find it quicker and easier with the glue gun 😁

It’s super cheap. You can buy the glue gun for about 3-5 dollars and the glue sticks you can buy at the dollar store
