Hey Charlie 😉 I remember as a child my Grandmother always made a Rum Cake & a Fruit Cake. That Fruit Cake was wrapped in cheese cloth and dark rum was poured over it. I couldn’t have neither one. I got ahold of some rum balls at another time and I guess I got drunk and passed out 😴 I was still in the single digits. I’m grown now so bring it on! I gotta make this 😍.

I'm allergic to tree nuts, but for some reason I can have amaretto and almond extract with no allergic reaction. But I can't eat actual almonds anymore. I used to be able to. Anyway, I say all of that to say that I think I still want to attempt to make this, just w/o the nuts. Do you think it will be too soggy?
