Thanks! There are a few adjustments I need to make on this after using it. I definitely need a step to get in the back. I'm going to put "see through" curtains in it as well. Shot a couple deer out of it this year. Seems to work great! thanks again for watching and commenting.

Hi from Oz, nice build, I am just completing a deer blind that has similarities to yours, hunting blinds are quite rare in Australia, but I saw a lot in Germany and have seen many US ones on u-tube, where I got a lot of ideas. One thing I don’t get is , why use plywood on a roof? Here we have many corrugated steel roof and wall panels that are strong, light and last for decades, that is what I used. For everything else I used timber and noise resistant materials, thick floor carpet, but no-one is going to walk on or even see the roof. I also used a good double sided insulation product on the frame before the cladding

I prefer metal roofs, but they are very loud in the rain.

great build! looking to do something very similar. might look to secure the rear of the box with something other than the scissor jacks you used... we get a lot of snow and really cold temps and i'm afraid they might freeze up. how's the climate where you are? (also- a material list would be helpful (i see the handrawn one, but it's hard to make it out.) thanks for the info

We have mild winters here. Deer season can be 20 degrees or 70 (rare). keep the jacks well greased and you shouldnt have issues. As far as material list, this was such a freak-show project, that I figured everyone else's build would be significantly different. This was to give folks ideas. I mean..... how many people have access to a truck bed trailer. If you have any questions along the way while you're building one, let me know. This was a fun project.

how did it function in the field? would you change anything? thanks for sharing.

I LOVE questions like yours! So...... this was in a VERY rural area with 'wild' deer (not 'city deer'). We had 3 come within 10 yards, and 4 come within 100 yards on opening day. The one I shot was at 200 yards (long story)... anyway.... I'd say this blind performed VERY WELL. Here's what I would change: 1). windows were too flimsy. When the wind picked up they bowed and came out of the tracts. Either spend more money for the thicker 'glass', or take the time to frame them. I am going to frame these next summer. 2). The truck bed chassis is channel iron. the bottom plane of the channel bent when applying pressure with the scissor jacks. I would run a piece of square tubing or heavy angle iron (like a bumper) and weld the jacks to it. That is on the list of things to do this summer as well. Very hard to explain here without seeing it. 3) NEED 'see through' camo curtains. I felt like it was too light inside. My buddy hung some in it a couple days ago. big improvement! Maybe get some coyote hunting action soon. 4). Needs steps to get in. I'm 50, and my knees don't work well. I'm putting that on the list of improvements as well. 5) Upper shelves and cabinet will be installed too. We were swimming in all our bulky crap that was laying on the floor. We had a Buddy Heater in there, so our coats were off and they needed a place to rest. 6).... Nothing else to complain about........ This blind is AMAZING, and I wish I would have built one years ago. I'm probably going to build another one at some point, for a different location. I'll be looking for cheap trailers in my future. I hope this helps you out, my brother! Let me know if you have more questions. Hope you like and follow my channel. Let me know if I can improve any.

Have you had this at highway speeds 60 mph? Looking to build one at my house and where it needs to be is about 30 miles but can’t build it there.

The only thing I could see that might be a problem is so many windows the deer or turkey might be able to see yall moving around or see your head if you are looking around..to see what I'm talking about have your friends stand where the deer or turkey would be while you get in the blind and mimick looking around and see what they say..happy huntting..

Thanks for watching and commenting, my friend! This is just the end product before we decked it out. This blind now has curtains in it which creates a dark environment. We have shot a lot of deer out of this since I've built the blind. Good call, by the way!

You found an old camper frame, so why not look for a deal on a small camper? Another idea

Should have done a A frame. The roof wouldn’t have needed to be anywhere near that tall
